I sure we do well enough in 2026 to warrant DQ keeping his job for 2027. I hate that there's a chance we switch personnel to fit the scheme and then start all over again in 2027.

If they are able to bring in either Eric Wilson or Ivan Pace in FA an ILB position would be covered with a scheme/terminology familiar player.

Looking at the Vikes depth chart, they didn't really carry a big NT. Perhaps they didn't feel they'd need it because teams won't be running on them due to figuring KOC's offense is their strengths. We'd probably be looking at it similarly but I'd sure feel better with a bigger NT.

It's going to be interesting to see how it all plays out and how players like Medrano, Kaho, Drake play into plans...or don't

I have a feeling we’re going to run 33/34 personnel but utilize even fronts. In that case, we don’t need a nose. But I need to watch the Vikings more closely.

I just watched the first drive against Minny.

As far as nose. Taimani played it on multiple plays, straight 0, 0-shade, who has that nose profile. Hargrave did, too, also 0 shade, but undersized for a nose. Sometimes they had the LB there. Would retreat into coverage and sometimes rush.

lol, I have to rewatch that whole drive. I am far from an expert but I've watched my share of defenses with all-22 over the years. This is the first of watching Flores defenses. It looks like total chaos. Between stunts. Changing formations from one play to the next dramatically and whose coming and whose not,

I can't even try to explain it yet, I need to rewatch. The coverages behind it also seem so sound. The first drive was the best one of the game for Washington yet watching it made me feel bad for Jayden. Especially with those passes on the first drive in the red zone he had no chance. Brings home the need to add a WR who can seperate.

On first blush, it brings home watching it, that they need LBs and Edge who can do it all, rush, drop in coverage and stop the run to some extent. Smart players, too. If you changing it up that much from play to play

You are correct that Taimani has a nose profile. The thing is he only played in 7 games in 24 and 2 games last year (against us and the Packers). Otherwise mostly Hargrave who is 6'2" 305 and about the stoutest DT on their roster with game time. It does seem that your front 7 needs to be versatile.

I will say…I do think this defense utilizes Bailey a bit worse than a true even front. But you can still find a way to utilize him.

Bailey fits more of the Dallas Turner mold, who the Vikings drafted in the 1st round. Someone who could have an elite speed rush in the NFL.

They value that element in their defense by at least one Edge guy.

They announced Jones via Social Media i believe, or are you meaning the incoming coaches replacing these ones? From a professional standpoint, it would be kinda crappy to announce peoples replacements before you've told them they're not being retained, and I would imagine that the team is announcing it as soon as they talked to the guys who are on the way out.

Bailey fits more of the Dallas Turner mold, who the Vikings drafted in the 1st round. Someone who could have an elite speed rush in the NFL.

They value that element in their defense by at least one Edge guy.

If I remember correctly, Turner was better against the run than Bailey.

Turner also has 11 sacks in two years. Our fanbase would riot.

(Their GM got fired just a day or so ago.)

I wouldn't think so. Its obvious they're going to be hiring different coaches, so might as well give these guys a head start on finding employment elsewhere. Shows class to let them depart now while there's opportunities for them to catch on with other teams if they so choose.

But I am now intrigued to see who Jones is bringing in to man these open coaching vacancies. I suspect we'll be hearing some signings shortly.

Kinda sad to see Kerrigan let go. Given that the Dline has underperformed really since we had Chase Young, Payne, Allen, and Sweat quartet I can't really complain though. Still, was a nice story to see one of our own make a transition into a new life and succeed and I hope he finds another chance.

Not really, sometimes you just clean house because what you’re looking for isn’t on staff to begin with. So no need to hold them out of interviewing for their own jobs across the league (which also might make a few guys outside the org more available to you, by putting other assistants on the market that no longer fit what you’re doing—of course odds are they just stink given our poor…everything…on D the last two years)

You’d only hold them while interviewing potential replacements if you thought they could compete to keep the job. Clearly we’re done with these guys and don’t even consider them fallback options

Vikings pick 18th. Q for the board is would you trade the Vikings #7 for #18 and Turner? Would value Turner as the #30 overall pick. The Vikings may be open to something like this if Turner was a Kwesi pick rather than a KOC/Flores pick. I'm on the border and would probably say yes if they threw in #82 or #97.

I don't like the 18th and Turner for 7. Adding the later pick would be nice, but we moved to far from the top of the draft I think.

We haven't had that on either side of the ball since Sean Taylor.

The closest We've come is flash in the pan rookie seasons and the book isn't closed yet on the 3rd version of that.
