Daronte Jones and the Defensive Staffing Thread

I am probably missing something--his defenses are all mid at best--I just don't get it.

Really intrigued by Flores in Pittsburgh. If three is an established organization who would hire Flores, the Rooney family would be the one. If I'm a coach, that would be my number one choice strictly due to their loyalty. No job in the NFL comes with more security

You know what's crazy is that the so called GOAT is still coaching and I haven't heard his name even mentioned one time for a job. I forgot all about him until I just saw that he's going to be an analyst for one of the National Championship shows.

Man how the mighty have fallen. He doesn't even have any buzz in college going into next season along with not being considered for pro jobs. I could be wrong but I don't even hear of anyone going there in the portal.

He’s embarrassed himself on the national stage with his strange personal life drama and conduct causing unending media attention for the wrong reasons. And he sucked in his first year. I’m pretty shocked they didn’t buy out his contract or try to invalidate it for conduct detrimental tbh

Hopefully, the picture at DC for us is clearer after Flores interview w/the Steelers tomorrow.

Might be silly of me, but have not given up on the Aden Durde dream. Durde is the Seahawks DC, but Mike McDonald calls the plays.

Quinn has hired Durde twice before, and the DC hiring delay for Washington has me hoping Quinn is waiting for the Seahawks to finish up their season so he can offer Durde a 'real' DC job (probably with Assistant HC title to avoid lateral move restriction).

They’ve clearly identified Scott as the more capable guy on that staff

How do i put a thousand bucks on every one of those teams to hire mcdermott?
Seriously at those odds wouldn't I be guaranteed to win something unless mcdermott doesn't get a head coaching gig this cycle?

Assistant HC title no longer acts as a loophole in those situations, it would still be a lateral move. Even with playcalling, still a lateral move. Seahawks can shut down any of those interview requests

Head Coaches only ever get 2 bites at the apple, at most (Parcells got three, but I cannot think of anyone else, off the top of my head.)

Choosing Cleveland, Tennessee, or the Jets as your second shot is highly questionable

No other way to explain it than as a money grab
