He though flat out said it was Quinn who drove it. Your point if I read you is he somewhat agreeed with the story but put modifiers on it -- like hey he wasn't as involved as some think. Nope. He didn't do that. He flat out challenged the story that Peters drove the firing and said it was Quinn driving the boat.

Yes I know. I’m saying he won’t be reporting any level of Peters involvement IF there were any. He doesn’t have to. He produces an accurate report because Quinn hired Blough.

Also, Schultz story can be entirely BS. My position doesn’t really hinge on the Schultz report at all. I actually dismissed it when it came out. I’m saying the Blough hire, for me, helped support Schultz report though.

Keim knows far more than he reveals. He doesn't feel like he has to be the first to report every single development. It's but one reason why he is so respected; unlike that egocentric guy at ESPN who was paying hospital staff for info on player injuries (and getting them fired); and married a 9/11 widow, then proceeded to make her tragedy all about himself by writing a book about her husband "The Man I Never Met". Zero respect for that guy. Less than zero, in fact. Tons of respect for Keim.

Yeah that's the wild thing with him. His "hints" end up being the ultimate scoop in the end but it feels like he doesn't want the attention.

Ben Johnson is a good example, he had it that this is likely not going down before anyone but it was Schefter who reports the story like two days later.

I get the idea of Keim not wanting to burn sources. That's part of it with him. But he doesn't misreport stories to help sources.

He I gather doesn't want the attention that comes from the actual news report because that perhaps hurts him with his sources if he comes off like someone just looking to out scoop everyone. The way to digest Keim over the years is take all his hints seriously because lol many of these hints end up true.

Going back to that same zoom I did with him years ago that he did for fans -- when he goes this team is looking for a back like Antonio Gibson in the draft -- hint, hint, it means they like Gibson but he doesn't want to blow up that source.

I'll stop here because we are derailing the thread. But in short, his story wasn't about Peters hiring Blough so by inference that means he controlled things with Kliff, too. He flat out said Quinn was the one who wanted Kliff out -- that story was pre Blough.

But veering back on topic I am very interested to see the leaks-hints early this week on D coordinator.

I got no idea of course what Keim's sources or access is. But I do agree with a variation of Cooley's point which is he doesn't trust one source or two, he will hit it via multiple sources-angles because one person could be off or have an agenda. Listening to his podcasts, an educated guess would be I think he's accurate because he has give or take 4 angles. Someone in the FO, someone from the coaching staff, an agent or two, and a source with another team or two. It's a good conversation because I've never thought about it before but thinking about the occasional times Keim hints at his sources in podcasts, it feels like this.

I am used to the hey Keim has finally lost it narratives over the years and lol I can't remember everytime it happened as to the narrative. But the more recent ones were people were annoyed on ES when Keim said they preferred Daniels over Maye -- a lot of Keim trashing happened back then and some just didn't buy it. Ditto the Ben Johnson stuff referenced here. Ditto the Quinn stuffed referenced here. Heck just a little while ago some thought Keim was wrong and spitballing on the idea that Blough had a good shot to be coordinator.

As for what Terry's agent can gain by him pushing his agenda.

A. Making the agent look good for starters. You have the narrative going on at the time from some especialy among the local media that Terry's agent is delusional and isn't serving his client. How about trying to reverse that PR in the agents favor and make the case that its Peters who is the bad guy who is low balling.

B. Same point but on behalf of Terry.

As for what Kliff's agent can gain by pushing that story.

A, Yeah talking to any owner who wants to hire Kliff AFTER being fired is a bit weird as to selling that to your fan base, so the 5-12 team just canned this coach in a lower position and we want to give him the top job here! So lets get a narrative out that the firing was BS. Quinn loved him and never wanted him to go. But that dysfunctional Washington team with the psycho power hungry GM foisted the firing on the coach. So in short don't be botherd by the firing because it wasn't a real firing.

I’m not disparaging Keim, or at least I’m not trying to. I’m saying multiple things can and likely are true all at once. I call Keim “Redskins Jesus” here at home because if he reports it, you can basically count it. That still 100% holds true.

As for Terry’s agent, he would have to pay Schultz for that which would cut into his own take for negotiating the contract. I get the idea you gotta spend money to make money, but did he gain any new noteworthy clients? I honestly don’t know but I’d say that’s dubious at best. It’s dreadful business.

As for Kliff, there’s no evidence that any of that is even a thing. If someone will hire him because “hey it was a fake firing and sheesh you know Washington man” then they are imbeciles anyway.

Of course, we all know these organizations and media outlets have no shortage of those 🤣.

Anyway, I won’t discuss this any further in this thread, this should be about the bogus DC search we have going on rn. It feels very Joe Berry reminiscent to me.

Well we are interviewing people for optics sake while Keim keeps telling is about Raheem and Ulbrich. Now that Ulbrich is likely out the picture that leaves Raheem. I’d say that feels rather predetermined IF they land on Raheem.

I am not one of the Peters haters here. But lol, I've probably written more posts hitting him than most. I think he's done a C plus level job so far. I am banking on his competitiveness to bounce back this year but will see.

Most of Denver's D were built via FAs. Seattle rebuild their team in short order. If they hire a good D coordinator and Peters steps up his game and I think he's capable of it, I think this D can be fixed more quickly than some fans believe.

Yep. Now if people want some silver lining not all of Schenider's drafts were great, he had a couple of bad ones in a row. But he reshaped that roster fast. Peters hopefully could do the same.

Not that am thinking Flores is coming here but on the off chance he does -- as the guy who covered him in Minny said expect him to transform the defense at least to middle of the pack in one season. He did that in Minny. He inherited a terrible defense and transformed it fast.

Yeah if they land him to me its bigger than any FA they could sign. Felt a week ago that its like 1% chance, now maybe 25% but I have some hope.
