Keim does a cliff notes of the 'rivalry'
Lots of oddball stuff that didn't have much to do with the games.
Here's one I didn't 'remember'

The chicken club. This one is a bit different. Some big-shot Dallas fans living in Washington wanted to pull a prank during halftime of the Redskins-Cowboys game at RFK Stadium on Dec. 17, 1961. The Redskins had an elaborate show planned with Santa Claus being pulled by a dog-drawn sleigh. So the Cowboy pranksters spread chicken feed around the field the night before and somehow snuck 50 chickens into the stadium. The plan was to release them during the show, have the dogs go nuts and enjoy the scene. They kept the chickens in crates inside the baseball dugout behind the Dallas bench. Alas, Redskins general manager Dick McCann wandered by several minutes before the chickens were to be released and foiled the plot. But some of those involved used to prank Marshall by calling his phone and clucking like chickens. In their next meeting at RFK, two men in chicken costumes hopped onto the field and weaved through the band during their halftime show.
