Bobby getting the respect from the organization he deserves. Without him, there is no Gibbs I era as we remember…and Joe Gibbs would be the first to admit as much.
From what I gather yes, this is at the team facility in Ashburn.
I also saw a report that they're replacing the shell on the outdoor bubble, and they're also completely remodeling the locker rooms. Looks like they're not intending on leaving any time soon.
It's kind of funny to think of a room that collects cobwebs but is only opened in April. "OK guys, time to dust off the old 'draft room' again" -- also a little funny to me to think that they would discuss random things in the "Draft room" - like, "OK guys, we need a new waterboy, let's discuss in the Draft Room"
I always liked the idea that the "Draft Room" wasn't a particular room but it was the meeting place of the minds that guide the team's draft. They made it kind of literal here. I guess though, there will be a lot of fanfare and content generated around the draft (as many teams do) annually, so this is just a part of that. We've all seen their "Draft Room" videos so now they are building out this concept more I suppose.
^^ All that said, the article is great. They are showing respect to Bobby Beathard which is great. If that is more of the point, and the above is just me being cynical, then it's just awesome. The reason for my cynicism is more that this announcement is coming in June - if it came in March I would understand it better. Feels a little strange in June/July.

The only thing I can think of, and i'm purely speculating here, is that it just got completed. They've been doing construction at the park this offseason and they likely didn't 'break ground' on any big projects while players were still practicing in and around the facility.
Of course that is all under my assumption that this is a 'new' thing, and that they weren't in this physical room when they conducted the draft this past April, but again i'm just speculating for the sake of maybe this is why?
This is great. Really, anything that honors our past is positive. We are a 100-year-old franchise and connecting to that heritage goes a long way with old timers like me.
Oh man, thank you for pointing that out, I’ll edit my post. I didn’t even realize there was an article link to the website in that tweet, I thought that was just a buzzy quote from someone with the social media team along side the picture 😂 that’s indeed very cool then.
Would you believe I just posted in another thread about the death of longform articles and the ability of people to read them? I should be slapped in public
You mean without 1st round draft picks…the dude had plenty of draft picks to work with, at least in the 80s. His first few years with the team in the 70s, though, he had like 3 picks each year lol…
