~* Commanders @ Ravens - Joint Practice Reporting *~

Need to re-shuffle the deck. If that means sign Decker at LT and move Coleman to guard, so be it. That is nothing against Coleman, but we just need to add another quality starter. Here is to hoping a decent center falls from the sky or by some miracle Nick Allegretti gets healthy and can play at a high level.

Yeah i wouldn't go as far as this point below. But its been a rough week. Why the summer isn't a disaster -- Jayden, Diggs, and the Flores scheme on defense. The issue seems to be the O line. Maybe a trade? Maybe a lucky release they can exploit?

This is what our rookie OC has to work with. If it's as bad as everyone is making it out to be, it's going to be ugly when it's time to judge whether he has a future on this team.

Yeah, like our defense has pieces to let us know about Daronte Jones.

But the offense? I don't understand the repeated mantra by the team that "Jayden is good enough to make it work", even after seeing him get hurt again and again when he tries to drag a crappy team to victory.

Trading for Tunsil? Great. Shifting Coleman to RT, fantastic...wait...that didn't happen? We instead drafted a light footed OT in a Guards body, that's not physical enough to make his light feet matter in the run game, and can't move inside to Guard...cause he'd get bullied by DTs, and his arm length/wingspan are short enough most Edges get into his chest with ease? Like he changed his body to add more muscle and drop fat...but that didn't actually change how he played. How we didn't trade back in the 2025 draft for more picks is baffling. Instead we fucked up the offensive line by spending a 1st on someone without a clear position, then moving a promising OT to a position he's less suited for. Removing Center depth just because despite it giving barely any cap savings.

Bringing back Wylie and Alegretti on those cheap deals? Good. Spending nothing else on the OL? What?

We've got the 4th most cap space in 2026, and projected to have the 6th most in 2027. We have a great QB on a rookie contract. THIS IS THE WINDOW. How are they not trying to capitalize on this?

After the Dolphins practice I said the Ravens would be the real test, as far as these things go (and I think it’s pretty far). Not good. I’ve opined enough this offseason about everything from Quinn to the roster construction to the cap usage to Peter’s drafts…so it’s been said, and people are saying it well in here as well. Not good.

We sure as hell have not loaded up the team like we should have to support JD. Who knows if he's going to resign here or if he even wants to?
That’s what’s been so frustrating. As fans we know it’s the right thing to do, but Peters doesn’t seem to have the sense of urgency.

Between that, trading away draft picks, and the now debacle at Center, I’m running out of patience.

Maybe we’re all wrong and we win 10 games with the David Blough razzle dazzle, but right now, it doesn’t look good.

I have no idea why people keep beating the drum for Decker. All 32 teams have decided not to sign him at this late stage of training camp. Our current OC knows him well. If we haven't brought him in at this point, chances are the staff just doesn't think he has it anymore or doesn't think he'll be a clear upgrade over our existing depth.

If guys that know him well are passing, that should tell you something.

The depressing reports have been coming fast and furious since Day 1 but they have been hyper focused on OL and WR. Last off-season we had a lot of inconsistent reports that gave questionmarks to just about every position. I don't think questionmarks about our defense in 2025 training camp are anywhere near repeated in 2026.

Anyone remember how desperate the reporters sounded for a need to get Terry's contract dispute over with? The WR issue in 2025 training camp was far worse.

That’s a fair take. However, it could be a bunch of other reasons too. Maybe he is asking for too much, which should not be a hindrance to AP. Insert another name for Decker (like Glasgow) and I’m fine with that. You need to upgrade the talent on the line, because they are pretty bad as a collective unit. Gosh, fans and media had to beg AP for about 5 weeks to sign Stefon Diggs. What takes him so long to react to issues?

AP owns this mess and should be fired if this season is a losing one.
