Opposites attract?

(I will never miss an opportunity for a Paula Abdul reference.)

If the reason for yesterday's lackluster performance was the vets not caring about preseason game 1 then that is a good reason to cut some vets.

Do you think they collectively asked not to play?
I could see that. In my book, it'd be a bad sign. I realize that preseason games have become "less" in the modern era and playing in the first one is now a sign that you are not considered marquee, but anyone not starting ought to be fired up to prove they should be a number 1. At the very least, they should play with discipline and acquit themselves as professionals. That number of penalties from a team with aspirations is crazy unacceptable.

Trying to be objective, I think the pass defense wasn't awful. Bill and Amos and a handful of others took advantage of their moment, but there wasn't a unit that should feel proud of that effort.

I don't think anybody asked not to play. I think this was Quinn's plan from the beginning. They do have a veteran team, and assuming he generally likes the way they are practicing, he doesn't want to risk injury.

That said, as skinsinparadise has noted, the Giants seem to be going all in for week 1, so that's going to be a big test.

Yeah, Daboll probably knows his seat is hot and this is his last chance to make good so he's going to give it everything he's got. We need to be ready to take the Giants' best punch.

I think they still believe they have our number and it was a fluke we beat them last year.

As has been stated week one can be a little wonky, coupled with the fact that its a divisional game, im not counting any chickens yet but by most accounts the giants are expected to be one of the worst teams in the league.
Part of me is wondering if this fear we're all having of week one is the remnants of being abused for so long we dont know how to be confident yet.

Part of it is definitely being Norvous... or having Charlie Brown PTSD because the team pulled the football away way too many times right before we got the chance to kick.

Yeah absolutely. As bad as the Giants have been, they still have our number and when we beat them its usually by a hair.

Conversley, the Cowboys and Eagles often smoke the Giants.

I know am going way back but I recall R. Wynn after playing for both teams said the difference is its part of the Giants culture that they expect to beat Washington and as bad of a season they might be having they should at least beat Washington.

I think we need to get up on the Giants fast in game 1. Because if we don't, I think there is a good chance the Giants are coming in with the motivation edge. Washington are definitely the hunted not the hunters in that game.

Definitely gonna need the OL to step up.

Sticking to the Giants, wonder if they'd release Wandale Robinson. He's more of a slot guy, but I think he fits our offense well.

And then there's this: This is a great throw. I will say, I watched some of Dart at the combine, and I thought his footwork was sloppy and his accuracy was meh. But that was a heck of a throw.

Is there a better last name for quarterbacks than dart?

I cant think of one.

Bomb. Now, there is a German last name Baum. With is pronounced similarly.

I’m sure there are people with the last name Bomb.

Clutch would be another. I’m sure there are people. And John Clutch in this world.

:p
