He feels like a dinosaur. A pre-analytics, drinking and having a good feel for the game, guy. Maybe there are coaches like him now, but there shouldn't be guys like him in the front office.

I always thought Scot Mcloughan was a good personnel guy hampered by bad personal problems. We did have back-to-back winning seasons when he was here. Many of his draft picks turned out to be good pros (Brandon Scherff, Preston Smith, Jamison Crowder, Kendall Fuller), and he had some hits in free agency like Vernon Davis.
Not to say there weren’t mistakes (drafting Doctson, releasing AlMo), but he did a relatively okay job. It’s not saying much, but his tenure in Washington was among the better two-year stretches of the Snyder regime. Unfortunately his drinking problem was too much especially in the unprofessional organization we were at the time.

If you go to Madrid, be sure to take an extra day to see Segovia, which has one of the best castles in Europe and a massive well preserved Roman acqueduct. It's only a couple hours away by train, iirc.

Everyone should see Venice and Prague at least once in his lifetime. Within Spain, most of the best places are in the south - Sevilla, Granada (where the Alhambra is), Cordoba. As I mentioned in a previous response, Segovia in the north is great. Barcelona, outside of the buildings by Gaudi like the Sagrada Familia, is dull as dirt imho. If you're going north towards Amsterdam, stop by Ghent and Bruges in Belgium. Bruges is a bit more touristy, but Ghent has a 13th century castle with a moat and looks beautiful at night. They are only 20 minutes apart by train.
The best spot to see between Madrid and Paris is Carcassonne - Europe's largest walled medieval city.

Personally, I’ve had about enough of owner’s spouses being spokespeople for the team.
And the last thing I have ever wanted is Washington being called ‘America’s Team’ (although I doubt she even knows the connotation)

I’ve been wanting to be a Hard Knocks participant since before the team even had social media. Craved every second of behind-the-scenes footage I could get and always fantasized about what it would be like with an HBO crew in the building. What I think makes this even better is that we get behind the scenes during the actual season with the real game planning and real wins and losses on the line. Training camp hard knocks would’ve been a win but I think this is another step above that

The NFC East is always relevant. It's just that this will probably be the first time in over 30 years that Washington will be relevant 2 years in a row.

Lurie and Philadelphia’s front-office personnel had been calling around the league in the days leading up to this week’s league meeting. It was an attempt to garner enough support to keep Green Bay’s proposal, which would effectively ban the Eagles’ version of the QB sneak, from getting the 24 votes it needed to pass. Wednesday morning’s “Competition and Health & Safety” session was Lurie’s chance to make a final impression — and he spent the better part of an hour making it.
...One high-ranking league source who was in the room said, “Lurie was like a guy trying to convince his girlfriend why she shouldn’t leave him.” Throughout his pitch, Lurie was emotional, passionate and — at one point — crude. He said the fact that his team came up with a play so unstoppable that the rest of the league had no other choice but to try to ban it was “like a wet dream for a teenage boy.” Toward the end of his address, he told the assembled owners that, regardless of the day’s result, he and his franchise would walk out winners, with Super Bowl rings to show for it.
...As for the rest of the NFL, the majority of the league remains unhappy with Wednesday’s result. One head coach, informed of the vote’s result as he left the practice field on Wednesday, summed it up this way: “Wow. This is a big loss … for the league.”
