Seriously. If he hadn’t completely bottomed out the roster and drafted horribly, Peters wouldn’t have had the assets needed to build a professional roster.

Dotson is a prime example of an asset Ron got for Peters.

I love hearing Kliff say that he learned from something.

I think that’s a huge common theme amongst the coaching staff. Quinn hired an outside consultant after he was fired by Atlanta to do a 360 feedback exercise. Kliff was fired and clearly is self aware. All the coaches seem to be willing to learn and adapt and take responsibility.

That’s a huge change from Jay, who was a moron who called the same running play on every first down after McVay left and never (to this day) learned a damn thing, or Ron who felt his was was entirely not the problem in Carolina and just moved the whole program to Washington.

Such a big change. And a welcome one.

He called a very good game overall, especially in the passing game. Much better than first Eagles game.

Also, like you said - so refreshing to hear this kind of talk from coaches. Bienemy and Turner also greatly struggled with accountability; this has been pervasive.

My biggest problem with him is I don't believe he has a good handle on running the ball - the when (calling/timing) and the how (creativity is low). The passing attack he has clearly works, especially with Jayden too. There are times that Jayden completely bailed the team out - it can't be understated or forgotten.

I do like Kliff's words of accountability, and his passing attack play design. These past two weeks displayed moments of that in full force, along with a great sense of pass playcalling/timing. The run was still a little shaky from my vantage point.

Speaking of Kliff, the offense is averaging 28 points per game in the second half of the season (Games 9/10 to now), so I think we can put that "Kingsbury Offenses Fade In the 2nd Half" narrative to bed. And that includes 36 on the #1 ranked Eagles D, 42 on the #2 ranked Titans D, and 27 on the #8 ranked Steelers D (not to mention without guys like Ekeler and Noah Brown).

I actually disagree with both the how and the when issues in the running game. There is actually a ton of creativity. They use pulling players at every level, read option looks, zone and power. Remember, the run game was really working well the early part of the season. And I think that was almost entirely due to scheme and timing

The dirty little secret is, however, our OL cannot beat better DL players 1:1, and BRob is good but not great.

Kliff has had to be creative to make up for these deficiencies. But some of it has been figured out and now it’s back to execution, and we aren’t great at that because the OL, specifically the tackles, aren’t great in individual matchups.

So, the question now is, what can he change to try and generate more of a run game with more smoke and mirrors.

Or can he? Or do we have to adapt even more to using the quick pass as a substitute to the run game. I get sticking with the run game, but at some point, you can’t bloody your head in the wall by banging your forehead on it.

I have long thought, even before he was hired here, the Kliff Cliff was a very lazy, click bate fairly low football IQ story line. Even a quick look at the circumstances would show you there is context to each season in Arizona.

And this year when the offense was struggling, it was primarily because 3/4 of the offense was injured and they were playing 2 of the best defenses in the league in 4 days.

But “Kliff Cliff” is something that sells, so a bunch of low IQ media folks ran with it.

So yes, he can probably get stronger and improve his conditioning and his ability to understand defenses and anticipate his teammates needs should actually improve.

How far from his finished product is he? Will he be a mainstay at left tackle. Does he top off at being average, good, or even better than that?

In listening to Keim, it’s unclear what his final position will be, tackle or guard. I doubt they will have a high enough draft pick to get an elite tackle prospect, so from the draft perspective, they’ll be looking at about the same range of tackles as where they drafted Coleman. I also doubt there will be a franchise LT available in FA.

My guess is Coleman will stay on the left side and they will try to draft and develop a replacement for Wylie. Biadacz in the middle and Cosmi are good.

But I do believe Coleman will improve significantly from where he is now.
