Last week, we experienced maybe our best day as a fan of Washington football in 24 years, with Josh Harris taking over ownership of the franchise. Alcohol was consumed, and fans celebrated like we won a Super Bowl (and rightly so). Having now had a chance to hear Josh Harris and his team of owners speak, beyond just "he's not Dan," what excites or impresses you most about this ownership group thus far?

They're human.

I know that's basic, but everything we've seen to this point appears to be genuine. They refer to each other by their first name. They have real smiles on their faces as they've addressed other people, whether it be fans or employees of the team. It's a very basic function of leadership... but one we've missed with this franchise for a long damn time.

The immediate show of action.

Look, it would have been easy to feel like simply buying the team was enough this close to the season but there was obvious thought put into small things that could be done quickly to show an abused and jaded fanbase that this group is more than just words.

- reaching out to team alumni by including them in the "first day" celebration and giving them all Legends shirts
- the new railings going in at FedEx
- calling into a local radio show hosting a sale party at a brewery and then buying everyone there a beer

In the big scheme of a $6 Billion dollar purchase, these aren't even peanuts or pennies, but all of them could have been done by Dan at any point in the last quarter century and weren't.

The upcoming name change. I can't even begin to tell you how much I loathe commanders. I want to go back to Redskins, but like I've been told 100x here, it isn't happening. But, I'd rather be WFT than commanders.

Same.
Admittedly, I do like the "W" logo. It really pops on the helmets and field but, the name? Sucks.

Yes. The logo is alright. Gotta ditch the Steelers colors.

I'm excited to see what a real player and someone who bleeds purple and gold does for this team. Magic Johnson and the Lakers/lake show are a staple when you think NBA. I want to see what he can do for this organization

The before and after pics of fan accommodations at training camp, last year vs now (bleachers!) says a lot too.

Also encouraged that Harris and Railes are purported to be long time fans. Now while I was skeptical of that, it bled through in their press conference and that excites me!
Gives me hope that they'll soon right some wrongs and generate trust with us fans.

The biggest change? Fans and players alike can start to focus once again on the SPORT and not on the actions of the owner and his executives in the offseason or off the field during the season.

Terry McLaurin said as much. The added stress on everyone was an unnecessary cross to bear. Jonathan Allen said it was the first time he saw fans that were REALLY excited to see football in DC.

Other that what has already been mentioned:

-Harris has a proven track record of getting pro teams back on track
-Everyone that spoke at the presser had a positive way about them. Like, I knew nothing about Mitchell Rales - but he was great! And Magic is great too. We can at least be represented positively w/ local and national coverage.
-Happy for Ron that for the FIRST time here, he can just focus 100% on football things

Yep, the Devils were the worst team in the Eastern Conference just a few years ago.

76ers have been relevant the past 2-3 years after a long time in the wilderness like the Wizards looking upward from the bottom.
