I live in central rural VA. Satellite TV or Streaming. Used youtube tv last year but its stupid expensive to see nfl....same with satellite tv years prior

If anyone listens to elliot in the morning he mentions a "timmy box" every now and then and you can find this guy on facebook easily. 300ish for the box and 15 bucks a month for thousands of channels. Ive seen everything but "local channels" in some of the chats about it. Question is can i watch nfl games on this thing? Anyone have one or knows anyone that does?

Besides that, does anyone have any other cheap options for a streamer?

Yeah in VA your best option is probably the cheapest one that gets you broadcast network TV since you are in the team’s local market.

Somebody was asking if we have a “where to watch” thread. I don’t know anything about a timmy box, but we will have a lot of nationally televised games this year. When I was broke I could find streams online, but I don’t recommend doing that.

Now I just pay for YouTube TV during football season, I think the service is pretty good. It is expensive but they make it easy to pause your subscription during the off-season.
 
My brother uses something called Jet Stream Live TV. Its a reasonably priced subscription, like $25 a month. You can get all of the NFL games, lots of various sports, plus a ton of movies and other channels. It comes with three logins so he, my son and I all use the same subscription. A hell of a lot more than just football or sports.

I have the app on my tablet and stream it to my TV.

I have no idea. After years of cable, satellite and streaming, picking up local tv is on an antenna is foreign to me. How would i go about finding out?
 
Sling tv subscription, VPN, find the local broadcast is one option. I use something different but it's in the gray area and will not post it.

How far away from dc or richmond are you? I live 40 miles from dc and a simple window digital receiver picks up multiple channels from dc. Where I live i cant get fox 5 on cable but get all other dc channels so when the game in not on fox 45 baltimore and its a fox broadcast I have to use it.

I added an NFL+ subscription because I don't ever remember it being this cheap to watch preseason. Maybe it's always been that price, but it's only $6.99/mo and I'll likely cancel soon as the season starts.
 
NFL+premium is $80 for the year
You can watch live games, but only the ones they choose on either your phone or tablet, but not on your TV. All games are available as re-plays on all devices. They are usually available an hour or two after the live game ends. All pre-season games live on all devices.
 
Download RCA signal finder app. You put your address in and it points the way to the nearest broadcast towers
 
Cheapest way is to break into your neighbor's house at gunpoint, tie them up, open their 'fridge, and turn on the game.

Probably the same....40ish.

I tried a cheap window antenna years ago when i lived much closer to town and could only pick up a couple channels like pbs. Pretty sure that was thrown away.

Yeah it depends, I used to live in the Shenandoah Valley and we couldn’t get any television without cable, even when we were only 75 miles from DC. Now I live in flatland and can easily pick up local TV on the airwaves with rabbit ears, though sadly I’m outside the Washington market area. Antennas can make a difference too, and I’m no expert there, but I would still try it if I was close enough to the city. If it works it should get you most of the games at least (I’m not sure about the Netflix, Amazon, or NFL network games), and the only cost is the antenna.

If that fails, there are other good ideas here, though I would probably just pay for the cheapest cable package that gave me local TV if I still lived in VA.

What was your experience quality wise? It so tough over here. Streameast is still operating, despite the news of shutdown, but it is a nightmare with constant buffering and lost connections constantly. I actually found a good stream on DAZN with Week 1 free but to continue a subscription is required. They only offer a weekly one for $30 and a yearly one for $325, no monthly plans. I subscribed to Sunday Ticket on YouTube but they ferreted out my VPN and denied service.

I was surprised because there were no popups and it played perfectly the entire game.

I'm in Tennessee and FOX had no game here at all yesterday. Why the hell do they pay Tom Brady 50 Zillion dollars if they don't even put those games on all across the country. They had some dumb informercial type crap on instead.

YouTube tv also shut down my connection in the Philippines. I have no idea why they care that I am traveling to another country.

Did you use the free version? I saw a notice that due to user demand the stream was only available to subscribers. Might have been bs.
