When I was a kid, Uecker was the dad on Mr Belvedere, Miller Light commercial man, and the Major League play by play actor. It wasn’t until I got older that I realized he was an actual play by play guy with a full time job.
There is something about old school baseball radio guys that is special. I’m guessing it has to do with coming from a time where baseball on radio was still a big thing. But those guys really made the game entertaining on both radio and TV.
