In the last You Tube video (about the 22 min mark), these guys actually have Ricky Stromberg as the best overall center in this draft. Worth a listen.
And that's just it I suppose...
If in fact the organization had Stromberg ahead of Schmitz in terms of their evaluations, it makes it a bit tougher to argue taking Martin in the 2nd round, who will easily step in and play significant snaps right out of the gate.
Rivera talked about finding three starters in the draft. Arguably, if you take your Center in the 2nd round, maybe a starting level Nickel isn't there at pick 97.
We only got pre-draft rankings, mock draft simulators, and YouTube videos to rely on. The organization has actual scouting and evaluations.
I still don't personally like the approach they took last night, but I understand it.
