Anyone interested in a game chat tonight?

Anderson way out of position on that OT goal, we should've had that game

2:30 from going up 2-0 in the series. 3 minutes later 1-1. Oof.

i agree with Chris, that game was lost with less than 3 min to go in the 3rd period. When you have the lead there you can't let it get away like that.

What a complete and utter embarrassment.

At least it won’t be the Penguins that send them golfing this year.

This series was done when we shit the bed in game 2

The Caps just don’t look like they have it in them this year. Instead of making plays to win games, they make the ones to lose them. Last night they just got boat raced by a better team. The announcers kept talking about how Boston made adjustments and the Caps did not. You see the difference as they dominated after 3 straight OT games to start the series. This isn’t over as the Caps have lost many a 3-1 lead. But it’s looking bleak as there are very few signs of life.

The Caps look like an old, tired, and slow team.

The Bruins are even punking Ovi physically with no fear of any consequences. The talented players seem to be simply playing out the string except for Orlov.

Even strength looks like a Boston power-play.

5 on 4 looks like a Boston power-play.

Age is catchin up with them... Sammy and Kuzy need to be gone, their attitude about this whole thing set the team back.

Makes me angry. They should have never changed coaches or goalies.

Age has caught them and passed them.

They now have to deal with an old, overpaid, and un-hungry roster.

Good luck with that.

Kuznetsov definitely needs to go. He hasn’t been the same guy since the Stanley Cup. I’m guessing the booger sugar was the secret to his success. He’s been nothing since that incident. The COVID violations are just lazy ridiculousness. Once at the start of the year was bad, but after that they had zero excuses. The last one definitely seemed to affect the psyche of the team.

It will be interesting to see what changes the team makes. Getting rid of Kuznetsov could make the team better. He’s a drag on the team. Other guys could go as well. I know Ovechkin needs a new contract. But does the team actually get better if they let him walk? I don’t think so since he’s still the most dominant offensive force on the team. Even in this awful series, he still was tied with Oshie for the most points. Which speaks to how bad they played that he had almost no impact plays in the series and he was still at the top in points. Letting him walk doesn’t mean you are getting back a bunch of pieces to restock. So it seems they would sign him. However, I’ve always said that a GM is paid to make those hard decisions. His job is on the line and he can’t let sentiment get in the way. We can be sentimental as fans, but the GM can’t be. The ones that are usually get fired soon after.

I wish they had played more of the young guys in the game last night. They brought up some AHL guys and you know they were hungry. Just look at the Caps 4th line who are all effort guys. They looked the best in this series. Having more young guys out there flying around couldn’t have hurt. But it’s over and done with now. This is going to be the most interesting Caps offseason in about 15 years.

IMHO Ovechkin transcends any thinking. The guy HAS to be here and retire a Capital. There are not many players that can be considered the best at anything ever, and Ovi is in that conversation. He may be the best shooter this game has ever seen. Had there not been a strike shortened season, plus Covid... he very well may be on the doorstep of the most goals all time. You keep him here, you retire 8 when he decides to hang him up, and you make sure he never calls another arena 'home.'

Shedding Kuzy's deal has to be the priority this offseason... expose him to the expansion draft and if he doesn't get nabbed, put him on the block. Same with Sammy. The two of them not only hit covid protocols twice, but they were also disciplined for showing up late to a team meeting on the cusp of the playoffs....

It looks more and more like not paying Trotz was a huge mistake, yeah the Isle's are a younger team but their game planning has been excellent throughout the playoffs (Mrs SO) is an Isles fan so I've watched all their games so far.

It gets tiring seeing the people who have nothing to do with the actual game making stupid decisions like that.

I also think Holtby deserved a big contract.

Problem with Holtby is we didn't have the cap space for what he wanted, we've also become a goalie factory in recent years with Varlemov, Grubbauer and Holtby so I'm not too concerned on the goalie front.

we were leaking at the net big time when we couldn't afford to. He wanted too much, but we didn't upgrade or even maintain same level with him leaving.
