Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, The Mock Drafts, 2017 (Continual Updates)

Need to watch 49ers to see if they take a QB. If not, think they are waiting for Cousins next year. That is if Allen doesn't show him some love like they did Moses.

I hope they pass on a QB the whole draft thinking they will sign Cousins. Then the Redskins and Cousins agree to a deal shortly after the draft. That would be magnificent.

DeMarcus Walker please. He'd make our D-line the CTE zone.

We could fix the entire D-line for the next five years in one single draft.

I'm sure Dalvin Cook and some of the safeties are also being considered.

Walker is a high-motor dude, very competitive, and a very solid citizen. The bigger the game, the better he performed.

Here is my own personal mock for the second round and beyond.

2nd - Zach Cunningham, ILB, Vanderbilt
3rd - D'Onta Foreman, RB, Texas
4th - Jake Butt, TE, Michigan
4th - Nico Siragusa, OG, San Diego St.
5th - Dede Westbrook, WR, Oklahoma
6th - Kyle Fuller, C, Baylor
6th - Josh Tupou, DT, Colorado
7th - Caleb Brantley, DE/DT, Florida
7th - Ben Braden, OG, Michigan

Everybody has a lowlight, but I'm not so high on Butt, after he gets completely owned by #55 Garrett Dooley, a "no-name" junior, and former teammate of TJ Watt, at 3:08 (top of the screen) in this video.
Or on the other hand, maybe Dooley is the guy to look for, in next year's draft.

Wouldn't Jake be the butt of all jokes?

He got a deal with Charmin the other day. He is now a spokesman for them. That last name seems to pay well.

Skins had one D-linemen rated as a first-rounder. It was the guy they got at 17

Prediction: Joe Mixon gets selected before Dalvin Cook. Possibly way before Cook.

ILB would be fantastic at that point. But there'll be a lot of talent at that point. Trade down maybe? Don't know about the others but GB traded outta the first & got 2 seconds (one from the Browns) & 2 fourths & 2 fifths now.

"I should note, however, that there are glaring issues with Foster beyond his injury and positive test at the combine. I was asked not to reveal this, but a team that considered Foster throughout the process passed on him because of something else. It's not a legal issue or anything, but Foster has plenty of warts".

Walter over at WalterFootball.

With Allen there, it made it a no-brainer. Fortunately. Huge steal.

John Keim implying that Mixon is off of the #Redskins board. So there's that.

BBQ's Take: Thinking defense in the second round and offense in the third. Not sure if there will be a trade, but don't rule out trading both of our 4ths for a move up to very early in the 3rd or latter part of the 2nd.

Giants tried to trade up for for QB Patrick Mahomes and were "very disappointed" they weren't able to get it done, per @AnitaMarks.

Interesting. Seems like an RB would be a bigger offensive need at the moment. But they really needed a TE so I think they did well.

Keep an eye on Toledo RB Kareem Hunt for Redskins. He's in consideration for them on Day 2 if available, per source.

BBQ's Take: This is a person I trust with Redskins info. Hunt is a likely target in round three it seems.

Jets -Skins .. talked Richardson yesterday , several convos. Stay tuned ... nugget dropped.. engage convos

BBQ's take: It will likely take a 4th rounder for Sheldon Richardson. Maybe a 5th rounder and Matt Jones. Stay tuned.

Jones is on the trading block (surprise not). Half the battle there

This is not surprising as the mock drafts I saw had lineman for the Redskins and in another, they had them take that guy in the 2nd round. It seemed there was no consensus other than Allen was the top guy. The fact the Redskins got him was huge.

But it begs the question. Who in the Redskins scouting department is grading d lineman. Because we have wondered for years why they have neglected that position. I honestly think it's that they have overrated skill positions and underrated the lines, specifically the d line. Why have the grades been so low?
