McL told griffin - if we are to believe public statements - that he was going to surround the QB with the 10 best players he could find. unless he hasn't looked at tape from the last two years...I don't see how we don't draft a couple o-line. I suppose the thinking could be Morgan and Long are long-term players as quality starters. There is also the notion that McL suspects a quality lineman or two will be released during training camp and could be signed as placeholders while current roster develop and next years draft completes the o-line restocking. finally, the whole matter of signing key players after this season along w/Girffin's problematic future might be influencing the strategy.

Or intentionally pass on him so the Jets can get him and keep him away from Philly... if Philly isn't willing to sell the farm to get up there.

Another note...

Countless hours have been spent on these mocks - fourteen last Saturday alone. I have never been this frustrated with our BGO mocks. I have very little to go on and have been researching what we may or may not do since last fall. Then the hiring of a new GM blew it out of the water. Trying to play catch up and figure out what he may do seems like an exercise in futility. I'm not mad about it, just frustrated.

I guess this means that McCloughan is doing his job quite effectively. The purpose of the mocks this year is to present many different scenarios. One of them may work out to a certain degree or I could produce a big, fat goose egg.

Just glad that so many of you are participating in the conversation and making great comments.

It was a major focal point in one episode of one of those path to the draft type shows. Went as far to show him getting his foot examined and treated in a training room. Can't find the clip at work but I appears to be 100% legit.

All I know is every player who's gotten it has missed a lot of time trying to get past it. Maybe he can heal faster because he's young, but pushing off on that foot will be incredibly painful.

If I'm not mistaken it's one of those injuries that kind of lingers for a period of time... this could mean he falls to a team that does not 'need' that type of edge rusher day 1.

To be perfectly honest, I don't let my personal feelings and preferences dictate these mocks. From day one it has been about what the Redskins are doing in the offseason and what team officials are planning to do in the draft. I try to assimilate every bit of information coming from Redskins Park and make educated guesses.

If I had it my way, it would be tilted heavily toward offensive line with some defensive line mixed in. That probably echoes the opinion of many in this forum, but my duty is to be as objective as possible.

Yes, Boyle would be a nice addition. I would be happy with him. I will be happy with whatever McCloughan does in this draft and be 100% supportive of his choices. He has earned my trust during this offseason. As I said earlier, trying to decipher what he may do next week/weekend has been a huge challenge. To be honest about it though, it is a refreshing change from the regimes of the last twenty-five years.
