Had computer problems last night.

Here are a few tidbits that were lighting up Redskins twitter yesterday afternoon.

I am a new follower to this source, so I have no idea of their track record or validity. But, for Skins-starved fans, these are interesting. They also echo what BB has been predicting, so that stood out to me.

Scot McCloughan knows Redskins Depth has been destroyed by RG3 Trade & other moves. Prioritizing quantity draft class marries need/value.
 
Not sure why anyone would expect a trade of the #5 pick prior to draft day. I don't doubt that there is a lot of interest, but to be shocked that a trade hasn't happened now seems bizarre to me.
 
SNF, I agree, and even if someone wanted the pick now, you hold onto it to drive the price up, based on what player is available at that pick... right now, it's anyone's guess whether the guy they want will even be there. Come draft day, IF the right guy falls, the value of that trade skyrockets.

Exactly. You hold on, raise the value of the pick, see what happens with the first four and you know if your targeted guy is available and the teams a few spots behind you won't pick him, you make that move. Why would anyone trade in the middle of March... ?

What have we learned in previous years? All it takes is ONE team to make an unexpected pick in the top 10 and that is enough to change the entire draft board for other clubs, and that is what generates interest and subsequent trades.

If one of the top 4 teams selects an outlier with their pick, our pick will become that much more valuable in such a trade.

I recall when the Raiders shocked everyone and chose Darius Heyward-Bey at WR in the top 10 a few years ago that shocked the league.

The one caveat for the Redskins, though, is with needs up and down the roster, can we really afford to pass up a guy that should not have fallen to us according to the expected draft board?

Should we give Marcus Mariota or Leonard Williams or Kevin White to another team?

Or take him ourselves and smile that he dropped to us.
 
Agreed on Goldson. I think he comes here if he is released on say a 2 year deal.

I also think BB's mock draft is much more in line with the needs of the team than Tandler's recent comments in re the OL about going with Compton until Moses is ready in 2016 and going with Chester until Spencer Long is ready to take over RG.

The 26 year old Compton has not done enough to secure a starting spot IMO. There is also no guarantee that Moses comes back and ever competes for a starting job on the outside after the injury.

At guard, Chester was pretty poor in 2014 and Long remained inactive for most of the season. I don't see what Long is going to do to leap frog Chester in 3-4 months of offseason work. Kiper indicated that he thought Long was a 5th round pick the Redskins took too early.

It may very well be that Long becomes no more than a solid backup down the line.

So, I agree that the Redskins will be looking for value on the OL in the draft from the outset.

OL and OLB are two spots the club has not addressed in free agency because of the contracts that were being offered in 2015 but I expect us to be active on April 30 - May 2 at those spots.

I'm not sure taking a player that may turn out to be a guard at pick 5 is exactly BPA. Especially if an elite WR or pass rusher are still available.

They are getting pretty bad over there. I used to put credence into their stuff, but they seem to have gotten lazy.

I agree that it would be tough to take a guy at 5, you could probably get at 10. But if he's the guy you like above others, you take him.
 
Seahawks offseason has been strange. They trade an all-pro center for a very productive TE, but still don't have much on the outside that scares anyone.

I would have held onto Unger and drafted a WR or made a move for Stills or one of the other younger vets available.

Wisniewski was a guy the 4-12 Raiders decided was not worth bringing back.
 
Grayson impressed today, completing 70 out of 74 passes.

He also ran a 4.72 forty.

It should be noted that the Redskins were not in attendance.

The next 5 weeks will be interesting. The lies and smokescreens will rival any political campaign and election.

Not sure if it's giddy school girl homerism but part of me REALLY wants White at 5. 6'3 215 and 4.4 speed is just something we've missed big time... and our WR corps is going to be changing, we're going to need young talent there.
 
Anybody else think Gregory's too light in the britches to play OLB in the 34?

Hope that's not the pick at 5....

I'm not sure how much time you have to invest, but a lot of the former NFL scouts and wannabe scouts speak highly of draftbreakdown.com

You can watch every snap of every game among other features like rankings and such.

I also have the same concerns about Gregory.
