Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, The Mock Drafts, 2015 (Continual Updates)

I'm curious. Is there any one of the top prospects that people are sold on? As in, if he's still on the board when the Redskins' are on the clock at pick 5 they should absolutely take him, and a reasonable trade down would be disappointing because he was still on the board.

Great work BB. Thanks for all of the effort, especially after round 2. It takes a lot of work to study players in the 5th and 6th rounds.

Question for you. If the Skins do take Grayson, which QB do you believe will be let go? And do you see any of our QBs being traded prior to the draft?

And, any predictions on a surprise trade before the draft? Like Morris or Garcon? I'm not sure when Morris comes up for a new contract, but that Melvin Gordon certainly looks like a player.

IMO, Leonard Williams, DE USC.

Don't think we get any shot at him though.....

Leonard Williams is the only guy that my "film study" (read: youtube highlights) and limited scouting report study has me thinking oh hell yes. He just looks like a potential beast on the DL to me. As in perennial Pro Bowler type.

Everyone else I've seen or read about seems to come with legitimate questions about size, or limitations to some aspect of their game.

But truth is, at 5, if we end up using the pick, I'm comfortable we have a GM who will take a player targeted to fit into a well-defined role and who comes with good character and locker room traits. Part of The Build.

Williams, Fowler and Gregory....in that order

otherwise....no other candidates worth a 5 pick. trade down to mid round and grab an o-linemen.

I'd also strongly consider Mariota at 5: right now...I don't think any of the QBs on the current roster will be here in two years or less.

Like to say a big Thank You to BB and all his hard work on these mocks! I enjoy reading these whenever a new one is posted and the discussion about draft picks and free agent moves in this thread has been awesome as usual.

I'd like to recommend that everyone go over to first-pick.com and check out that draft game. It's a fun game to play, but for me, it has helped me to get to know the players in this draft better so that when I do read BB's mocks, at least I have an idea of who he's talking about...lol.

BB, if DJ Humphries makes it to the second round, think he's on the radar(assuming we go pass rush in the first)?

There's a lot of chatter going on right now about Goldson possibly cut in Tampa Bay, and the Skins being interested to possibly fill our FS position for a year or two.

I wouldn't get too excited. He's 30 years old for starters.

There are also a lot of unconfirmed sources making claims about our draft situation right now.

Well, that pretty much includes everybody following the NFL draft, the Redskins, or anybody getting a paycheck for writing about sports, and probably a few thousand others.

Goldson on a two year deal would be OK.

Unlike Tampa you have to make sure he can fit your scheme.

Fangio handled him well in SF.

Very true.

It's been incredibly quiet all day though, up until the last 30 minutes.

Lots of claims are being made right now lol.

Again, thanks for the kind words.

No idea who stays and who goes, but I did give a scenario in the mock.

As for who we pick and when, it just depends on trade options and how we can maneuver through the draft. I feel confident that we will see a lot of movement from this GM.

Next week we will go to two mocks and increase it from there.

What are some of the claims?

BB I love your latest mock...hits everything important. Now if we can just get this list over to McLov's we're $!!!!

I'm too tech retarded for it actually. I'm lucky if I can log on half the time.

Don't be surprised if Dashon Goldson is a Redskin in the coming days or sometime next week.

If I can do it, anyone can do it.

Just open up any web browser and go to twitter.com

Open up your free account, and then I'll direct you to a few of these recent rumors.

BB, opinions are certainly split on Gerod Holiman. I mean people either love him, or they despise him.

Everyone has their own opinion, but I've read some shockingly spirited comments about the guy from a few analysts.

One example of a non-believer:

Gerod Holiman, Louisville--Just say no. Soft at POA, bad angles, bad tackler, can't cover. Let someone else treat him as a project.
