I also read where some other team had offered him $5 million a year but that he wanted more. If true, that team apparently wasn't concerned.

I perused some Broncos fan forums to see if I could get any insights on Pot Roast.

His going to FA made a lot of Broncos not too happy...however...

I found a couple of what seem to be pertinent entries relating to the "out of shape" possibility.

Since coming to Denver Knighton has been fined (or missed escalators in his contract) more than 300k for being overweight. Thats according to Denver ESPN radio host Cecil Lammey anyway

I'd still make an effort to keep him, there really isnt anything to replace him. Sly has shown nothing of that.

7.5 is definitely too high and far from a hometown discount. I would give him a contract that is worth 5.5 million in yearly guarantees with some weight related incentives that could bump it up another million. .

Wouldn't it be kind of hard to lie about the physical shape someone's in ?
I mean, that's something that could be very quickly and easily proven or disproven, by any prospective teams.....unlike, say a characher issue, for example

I read some tweets earlier but i think he wants a multi year deal and no team wants to give him what he proves it this year he will get locked up with a multi year deal
