Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, Mocks, Camps, OTAs, Roster Predictions, 2019

Re: Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, Mocks, Camps, OTAs, Roster Predictions,

Don't know Craig Hoffman....for those that do, does he seem respectable?

Redskins media. He has produced a lot of scoops in the last couple of years. Well respected. Almost never wrong. Very good source of Redskins info. I posted many of his tweets during training camp practices.

Can we stash Colt on the PUP? I know we could do IR and bring him back later, too.

Oh, and **** Pothead Crybaby.

That however takes someone with at least a sixth grade education.

We're more likely to let him sit this one out, get nothing in trade for him and put our new franchise QB in peril.

Due respect - but I think that's a ridiculous idea - guess I'm uneducated :)

You want a bunch of folks who've busted their ass to get these jobs all to lose them? We reportedly have a super talented training staff according to everything I've read. And the ‘team doctors' are mostly contracted and are well respected or wouldn't have their jobs.

Everyone's worried about Trent Williams. What about the humans who have these jobs? Williams was apparently told to get it looked at by someone qualified to assess it. He didn't. And when he finally did, it turned out to be nothing of major concern. Unless there are major issues we aren't aware of - he has no valid gripe or concern.

As to all the injuries - it happens. The vast majority of NFL injuries occur due to high speed impact and twisting of trapped body parts. You can't ‘train' your way out of them.

If your call to have a bunch of strangers to get fired is about the latest ‘controversy', McCoy not being ready or supposedly forced back into action, those kinds of decisions are made by every team during the season. It's always obvious what should've been done in hindsight. But we don't know if Colt would be hunky dory even if they'd not tried to bring him back. And ultimately players have to own some responsibility for their health and recovery from injuries.

There probably are issues with competing priorities with the desire to have guys on the field vs. 100% safeguarding their health, but that's an NFL challenge and I'd like to know how the Redskins are different from every other training and medical staff on the league - so much so they all deserve to be fired?!

Re: Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, Mocks, Camps, OTAs, Roster Predictions,

There's a really simple solution right now:

1) Replace the training staff and unless there's an absolute, widely acknowledged to be the best-in the-business standout, replace the medical staff too.

2) "Trent, we're not sure, but protecting the health of our players is our top priority so we cleaned house and brought in some of the best from all over the country. Please come back and play for us this season. "

Fire both those entire staves for one guy on the downside of his career who signed the (at the time) biggest deal for a LT and is one joint away from a year suspension? Let his ass sit.

Could be worse, did you guys happen to see what the Raiders training staff apparently did to Antonio Brown's feet? :hopelessness:

Imagine if TW had blistered feet instead. The DMV would have never lived down that.

Nothing with Colt's never-ending injury history particularly surprises me at this point ... the man just breaks.

Trent? Who knows...if this was happening 3-4 years ago, I'd be more upset. As it is, he's a guy Id love to have out there, especially given Haskins early development, but not at the cost of a new mega-contract. He's just not that guy any more, not on a team realistically just trying to get on a winning track with a young core group.

What does keep nagging at me is Guice. Was really hoping he'd hit the ground running and be a force from opening day as a key part OF that young core group. Starting to get at bad feeling about where he seems to be ... while still trying hard to stay optimistic.

I think the issue with Guice is simply over-protection. If this were opening week, he'd be cleared and ready to go. Gruden & Co. are paralyzed by the fear of preseason injury. To the point that he puts the team in jeopardy of injury by not working them as hard as the CBA allows.

Could he possibly be the new HC going into the 2020-2021 season... ?

Listened to Brian Mitchell this afternoon, he suggested that the staff is not listening to the players, in this particular case Guice, and being too cautious. He suggested that by not allowing the players to get the much needed game time exposure, they risk not being fully prepared when the season starts.

Another oft injured player we are placing tremendous dependence upon with his return.
