I don't know of its true or not, but I read somewhere that the Browns paid a consultant/research group something like $100,000 to develop an algorithm to identify the best QB potential in this draft. I also read that when they used it to eval this years QB class that it showed Teddy Bridgewater was the best of this group. And they then selected Manziel. Who are you so wise in the ways of science????!

I read that as well. It was Joe Banner who commissioned the study, so it was filed under "previous administration" and ignored. I also think Bridgewater is going to be the best QB out of this draft. Poor jaguars, lol.

Bortles to me is a guy that was no better than a mid first round pick like Joe Flacco.

Some teams don't pay attention to the relative value of their picks and simply select based on need.

That's why the Jags are in the top 10 every year.

if he is another Flacco he is already 10x better than what they've got. The Jags needed to make some noise but they shouldn't have let MoJo walk without his replacement.

I have a weird feeling that during camp or right before we are going to hear about trades being offered for Cousins. He is worth more than a 4th and teams are going to find out quick that who they've got isnt cutting it.

My comparison to where Flacco was taken was based on Bortles size and arm strength.

I didn't anticipate that Bortles necessarily will develop into a SB quarterback at this level.

Coming out of school I didn't see Bortles being a top 3 pick.

Perhaps down in the 15-20 range.

...pretty sure he is the only guy who ever celebrated a TD by ramming his head into a wall and giving himself a sprained neck...
(perhaps he lost control after ferotteing hisself resulting in the headbutt to the wall?)

I remember a former Redskins veteran watching training camp in 1995 commenting that 'Heath Shuler flat out can't play' and that the 7th round Frerotte was a better qb. And that was AFTER Shuler's rookie season when he had a year in the system and Norv was supposedly looking for 'big things' from him.
