As Breaking News threads sizzle out, and stories that don't necessarily warrant a front page feature, they can be posted in here to have a running tally of the Breaking News as it happens.

I think this is very cool. Tough for a female to get meaningful work in a male-dominated pro sport. King is proving it can be done, and awesome that our team is paving the way. I'm sure she has earned the opportunity and I will be rooting for her as she continues on her journey.

To me Heinicke has better instincts and athleticism than Kyle Allen. He's a shade small for an NFL quarterback, he's listed at 6'1 but looks more 5'11 to me but he does have a lively arm and the ability to go off script, which none of the others have.

The ideal scenario would be to draft a quarterback and have a young group that grows together and competes to make each other better at relatively low cost.

We cut Alex Smith and save the $14M and address other positions.

If I am the GM I am not trading two #1 picks for Derek Carr. We have already been screwed by one Gruden here for 7 years. No reason to let the other Gruden take advantage of us too. :devilish:

And why would we want to give up a #2 or #3 pick for Marcus Mariota, a player we could have had for free last year when he was released by Tennessee?

That makes no sense whatsoever. He played well in a late season game that didn't mean anything in re the playoffs. Big deal.

This is a good move. He showed at the end of the year he deserves a shot. I don’t think this precludes the team from signing another QB. The contract is pretty small for a QB. Unless they think he can be a great QB, they should still be looking to improve the QB position. But I believe having him on the roster does make the QB position stronger.

It's primarily a matter of health for this guy. If he can stop having the Malcolm Kelly-like trend of getting injured, I think we have something good at least. How good is a matter of degree. Maybe he's just Todd Collins good. Or he could be Trent Green good. Or Tony Romo good. Or Drew Brees good.

I'm certain he won the room that game and made Dwayne an easily-forgotten memory. If the other 52 come in better prepared, it will be in part because they believe Taylor can take them somewhere.

his dad is Bill Polian and I don't see any previous ties to Rivera, kind of sad that we have to qualify that.

The jags have had a pretty bad record lately too

The question then is how much was players and how much was coaching?

I don't think that's necessarily because of the players that have passed through there.

Allen Robinson
Leonard Fournette
Joe Schoebert
Jalen Ramsey
Calais Campbell
Miles Jack

Hell they had 6 Pro Bowlers and 2 All Pros on their 2017 defense when the team went 10-6.

Polian likely didn't have much to do with those guys that were drafted, but it looks like a bigger problem than lack of talent.
