I have been a Washington Redskins/WFT/Commanders fan since growing up in Northern Virginia in the 1960's. I am the founder and Co-Owner of
www.bgobsession.com (Burgundy and Gold Obsession), a large DC Football fan site since 2009.
We are truly disgusted with the ownership of our beloved franchise. Dan Snyder not only facilitated and tolerated a horrific, abusive, misogynistic work environment in Ashburn, Virginia - he participated in it himself. He is not a decent, good human being. He is an arrogant, despicable, and abusive personality who neither cares about what is right nor has any interest in taking responsibility for his own reprehensible actions.
There is a day of reckoning coming for both the NFL and specifically Daniel Snyder. The revelations of sexual harassment, staff abuse, and organizational misogyny we have learned of so far are only the tip of the iceberg.
The NFL is powerful and insanely rich, but it is not invincible nor immune from culpability. As it always does, the truth will come out eventually. I
understand you have a corporate bottom line and the NFL is the biggest cash cow in the history of cash cows. But fans of the Washington Commanders, women everywhere, and most of all, the VICTIMS of sexual harassment and abuse who experienced it over and over as employees of Daniel Snyder, deserve your support.
If you care about sexual harassment and workplace abuse, you will dissociate yourselves from Daniel Snyder and reevaluate your sponsorship of the Washington Commanders. You will make it clear you do not sanction or defend what occurred under Daniel Snyder's direct leadership. Or you can continue
to express ambivalence or hide behind the 'changes' that Snyder has begrudgingly had forced upon him - as if that erases 30 years of abuse.
This is a bad man who has done serious wrong to many wonderful people. Help us hold him accountable. The truth is coming and we all want to be on the right side of it when it does.
