The guys had technical difficulties with the Pod tonight but pushed through offline to finish the Mock. Love somehow fell to the team at #7.

As always, no trades were entertained. We went with our original draft picks.

And John is still wondering who our #4 WR is.

Love this draft. Love and Sarratt? And Slaughter? Hell yeah

Was the intent with Eli that he would be good on ST's and compete with Luke at slot and with Lane for gimmicks?

My understanding is he wasn't used in a true pro scheme, he is limited with routes and will need to adjust to the speed of the game coming from the small er school.

I ask because is see our current WR room as having a few players still developing, do we add another developmental at the position. Also doesn't appear to be that good with pass pro.

It was a bit of a 6th round 'flier' type to add more speed / versatility to the offense who can be a position neutral type guy in time.

This would be truly excellent, I won’t dare hope for it

I pushed for him. You're right that we already have several 'projects' at WR. But the way I would put it is that we have exactly ZERO proven WRs not named Terry. We need to load up that group as much as we can in the hopes that some of the younger guys 'emerge' as hidden gems. I think McCaffrey was showing signs last season before he got hurt. Lane is a great returner but I'm not sold on him at WR yet. Burks - he's a massive question mark and most of the belief in him is based on 2 or 3 circus catches he's had here.

We need help. At the point in this draft where Heidenreich would be selected, you would be getting an electric 'gadget' type player who is as good running the ball as he is catching it. He has elite speed and a high RAS score. That's the kind of guy you love to get with a later pick.
