BGO NFL Draft Zoom Party

Okay. If Boone’s a fan. I will trust the pick.

He's another 'versatile' guy, natural guard but played full season at tackle for Utah. Maybe not physically dominating (which is why we got him in the 4th) but he is a solid gamer. I think he'll eventually be entrenched at one of the guard spots.

Where do they go in the 5th? I'm thinking RB/LB/TE depending on who is there? Kicker could be on the table too.

Linebacker would e nice.

One of the issues in the interior OL is free agent signee Gates just came back from a gruesome injury that almost cost him his career.

There is no guarantee this guy can stand upright for 16 games based on the current wear and tear.

The way I look at Stromberg and Daniels - they are 'developmental' players at the NFL level, in part because they are both undersized.

That's fine when you are looking at later round picks, but in Round 3 to mid Round 4 in the salary cap era teams are looking for guys who are coming in as competitors for a contributing spot or top depth as rookies.

Stromberg is described as being more of an 'influence' blocker that needs to master the angles and positioning because he lacks the anchor to battle DTs coming right up the middle into the quarterback's face. His bio says he 'loses positioning to power' in pass protection. Doesn't sound good to me given the NFC East rushers we see in Philly, Dallas and NY.

In re Daniels, he posted a 4.99 40 time but he's only 294 which is 20 pounds under what most of the current OT prospects present from what I have seen through 4 rounds.

Perhaps he looks great 2 years from now going from 294 to 310 and overcoming his lack of punch with better footwork and technique.

So, net I see TWO players selected in the first four that have a chance to come in and make an impact in 2023 and that's the two DBs.

If as some folks have indicated Washington may be looking to move on from Kendall Fuller and if Martin shows enough early Fuller isn't on the final roster in 2023.

None of this, however, helps Sam Howell transition in as a first time starting quarterback.

There were OL in Rounds 2-4 that project to be starters or at the very least guys that meet the physical and strength standards for their positions to then work towards becoming contributors.

Look at the players the Eagles draft. Look at the players Kansas City drafts.

They take guys that have the size, strength, speed, quickness projecting them to the positions they are going to play.

Is that a guarantee they make it? No. But if they don't make it its because they suffer injuries or can't process the faster game played at the next level, which you can't always handicap.

But they don't start off with physical challenges to overcome.

There’s our defensive end

Later than I thought tho

Was driving when we made this pick. The guy on 980 loves him. Thought he was worth a second rounder.

6'4 and 260, 4.6 speed. 24 years old.

Finally a prospect where Washington appears to have gotten value as he was projected to being a late #3 or #4 and we got him in Round 5.

We need MORE value out of our picks overall.

I'd like either the tackle from Maryland or Zach Kuntz with this next pick.
