I never fell into the superbowl contender trap like some did, I wasn't quite that delusional but just 3 weeks ago we were universally ranked top ten in power rankings and many were calling us sleeper superbowl contenders.

I’m not ready to hear it yet either, but getting smacked upside the head and humbled may be the best thing this young team and their coaches could experience in the long haul.
 
I think a big part of the issue we are having now is that expectations went sky high early on and the team has regressed quite a bit in November. I’m not giving up on anything but reality is setting in if you dared to believe they were a legitimate contender at 7-2. Maybe a Gibbs 2.0 style turnaround occurs in December. We have seen it here before.

I think we are what we thought we were as we entered the season. We had a rookie QB, all new coaching staff and front office along with tons of new players with a lot of weaknesses across the board. Those holes were apparent at least at OL, WR, Edge and TE with concerns of one year older players on one year deals in numerous other positions.

Since then the only move we really made to improve those situations was bringing in Lattimore who has not played yet. He will be significant later in the year and next year for sure.

We all know we need more talent. Another off season for Peters and we should be in a hell of a good spot. We have won 7 games, that's all I figured they would win this year

Youre a better man than me. Im one to believe to watch every game till the bitter end. This one almost made this grown man cry. I turned it off when we went down 20-9. I just gave up and couldn't. And I don't let sports get to me. But this is freaking Dallas. Dallas missing so many players. Then my wife runs downstairs to yell at me that we just scored a touchdown and it's 26-27. So I turn the game back on. Excited as he'll just to make it in time to see us miss the PAT. I don't drink and I have a car, but I feel like just walking to the liquor store for a bottle. This one hurts.
 
Let's see how this season rides out the rest of the way. If we don't make the playoffs, KK at a minimum is probably gone. Whitt Jr. has our D playing well the team was given some gift in missed FG and one blocked and a punt partially blocked. It's one year and the coaches probably get another year but to start and then play like we are now to a losing team speaks for itself. Shouldn't happen.

This is literally the first game in 2024 that we inarguably should’ve won, and did not.
