We, as fans, have our whole lives to cheer for this team. If changes at the top bring about rebuilding, we can afford to have patience. Especially since we can dream that maybe the right changes will set us up to be successful like the Redskins of Gibbs I - always a threat, always in contention for the Super Bowl title.
Jon Allen, 29 in Jan, and Terry McLaurin, 28, are staring at the last few years of something they have been doing most of their lives. They have 4-5 years left and that is the absolute best-case scenario for both of them. The team starting over has to be depressing for them. Both want a ring before they hang their cleats up. For them, the next front office/head coach combo will likely be the last and it absolutely has to be successful for them to achieve the things they have dreamed of since they believed in Santa.
I'd be concerned if I were them too. And probably surly when asked questions by reporters about things I have no control over.
