The guys discuss what's wrong, wronger, and wrongest with our 2022 Commanders and debate what might be going on with this coaching staff in year 3 of Ron Rivera's rebuild? Sadly, confidence heading into a critical home clash vs. the 2-0 Eagles is in short supply this week.

It ain't easy being Burgundy and Gold.

I hope we are right about him, but my smarter side says we should probably slow our roll on Robinson. We’re comparing a guy who has yet to take a regular season snap to Clinton Portia and Stephen Davis.

I like what I’ve seen and am betting on him, but we should probably keep the above in mind :)

I was not so much comparing him to Portis and Davis in terms of performance to date ... more comparing his size/running style. :)

We all spoke up with, if not outright comparisons, the suggestion that he could be that caliber of back. And he might be, but pretty early to be thinking in those terms. I’m chiding myself as much as anyone.

And we were right. He could be.

That said, I hear ya bro.

We need to come out and have a long first drive, whether we get points or not we need to grind the clock and keep our defense fresh and off the field as much as possible. There's no reason we can't if Turner just keeps a simple game plan, I don't care if it's dink and dunk at 4 yards a clip. I put nothing into the Eagles beating the Vikes last Monday simply because when has capt happy feet Cousins ever played well in the spotlight. I think that's an outlier and the Eagles team we'll see is more like the one that faced Detroit in which the Eagles defense gave up some points but so will we. Limiting their offensive time is imperative. Now as I state all this, I have no faith our defense will stop the Eagles from putting up close to 30 unless we limit the time of possession by grinding the clock on offense. Since I've said all this, none of it will come to fruition and the Eagles flat out embarrass us to the point I shave my head and move to Tibet and become a monk, monks can drink beer right?

It is time for William Jackson to start playing anything but awful. Not even hoping that he plays near the $13,812,500 that he is getting this year(second highest after Wentz) as that now appears impossible.

Fuller is 4th at $11,125,000.

Start communicating with each other.

Hopefully Curl coming back will help with the communication.

Enjoyed the pod today out and about at work.

In regards to the Scott Turner conversation, I think what you guys were looking for when describing his play calls is Situational Awareness.
He has none. It's why it can be 3rd and 1 and they come out empty backfield and 5 wides.
Remember last year...it was Rivera that told him to run more. Wasn't like Scott thought of that change all by himself.

IMO, that's what's wrong with the offense: the inability to establish a run game. Become more physical and let the pass game play off of it.
I just don't believe Turner has it within him to do that.

I was never a big Cousins fan, but he is better than Wentz. Better accuracy, better all-round fundamentals.

Since Cousins struggled mightily against the Eagles last week, it's a safe bet that Wentz will struggle as well.

But it's irrelevant, because the Washington D is going to get lit up yet again.

Cousins has made 200 million plus dollars fleecing teams, Wentz is getting his money at what 28, but we can walk away, Cousins getting mad cash through 2024 at least. He's the fucking Rich Gannon of the modern Era without Grudens game plan. Again walk away if needed without tying up cap space, if this team doesn't win, Rivera enjoy your river boat on the way out.

Rivera on Good Morning Football worrying about how to help Puerto Rico.

Dude. You’ve got a huge football game in 2 days. I’m seriously starting to question how much winning matters to this guy. Can you imagine Belichick or Gibbs spending time doing puff piece interviews in mid-game week?

When are he and Jason Wright going to realize you can’t PR your way back to being a legitimate franchise? Only winning can do that.

100% agree with everything in your post.

Joe Gibbs knew none of the Iran Contra,Oliver North stuff going on at the time it was happening in Washington.

He had a football team with SuperBowl aspirations to coach.

Where's Ron's head? Clearly not in the game.

Except Rich Gannon was an extremely good QB who led a team to the Super Bowl. He was also league MVP in 2002 when the Raiders went to the Super Bowl, something that Cousins can only dream of.

Philly has everything to destroy us because we usually suck against those types of players:
Mobile QB
Bona fide #1 WR in A.J Brown
Pretty good RB in Miles Sanders
A defense that knows EVERY Carson Wentz tendency.

I dont know about the Carson Wentz part... but the rest of it I think we spoke on.

As far as the defense having the book on Wentz, a lot of things are different... like we have a completely different set of weapons.

That's not to say I have some massive amount of confidence, just that I don't know that there's a huge 'familiarity' with him. Yes, Schwartz was there in 20 when Wentz was, but I think there's been a lot of turnover on the defensive side of the ball.

Rich Gannon was a nobody before Gruden, average journey man. Cousins might luck into that at the end of his career but Gannon was Cousins without the ridiculous contract his whole career.
