The guys find some positives in a narrow road win in New Orleans, discuss some record-breaking Terry McLaurin milestones, and make some bold predictions regarding Sunday's huge home matchup vs. Philly!

stick around to the end and you can see me literally glitch

Let’s see if I’ve seen enough YouTube videos to do this…

“PeRsoN on PoDcASt SaYS the CoMmAndErs ArE going To BEaT WHO?! TOTALLY INSANE PREDICTIONS!!11!!!!1!!!!!!!”

Philly being motivated to win the division pales in comparison to their motivation to earn the #1 playoff seed.

They are currently tied for that with Detroit and are one game behind in conference record. Philly finishes the season @ Washington and home against Dallas & NYG. Detroit finishes with @ Chicago, @ San Fran, Minnesota.

So @ Washington is Philly’s toughest remaining game on paper. Home vs Minnesota is Detroit’s.

We will get Philly’s best effort on Sunday so a win would be ever so sweet.

We absolutely will get Philly's best effort.

But I still think, even with that caveat, this sets up as a potential trap game.

To reiterate what I said on the pod, I think they're by far the better team. It's not even really a debate. But I just have a gut instinct that we're going to put together our best effort.

But Barkley scares me.

A lot.

That is an interesting statistical comparison between Jayden and Jalen. Jayden will be (and maybe already is) a much more accomplished passer than Jalen could ever dream to be. Imagine if Jayden had Barkley, Brown, Smith, and Goedert, and that o-line.

Hurts does have a lot of rushing TDs but the overwhelming majority come from the ass push play.

I guess what I’m saying is that of course we can win but I don’t think it will be because Philly overlooks or takes us for granted. They simply have too much to play for. (Plus it will be a home game for them.)

Sometimes when you have so much to play for and you know your opponent is inferior, the edge is taken off. Despite the goal.

Do I necessarily believe that Philly falls into that trap? Not really.

But it’s hard to finish a season 15-2.

Really hard.

And NFC East game, away, against a team who despite winning ugly has been winning gritty games all season…

I think it sets up for a potential upset.

I think 9 of 10 I take Philly. And maybe I should here. But something about this game says trap to me.

If we lose 41-6 I am blaming Boone , by the way. And our strength and conditioning.

All good points. But I don’t think we scare Philly. It’s more a subconscious thing than ‘taking us lightly’. When teams are confident they will handle you and are a better team, sometimes they get surprised. I think Philly believes they are the better team and will handle us. They are… but the second part we’ll have to see…

I think we are up by 10 or more points at the half - and spend the rest of the game holding on for dear life.

If we struggle in the 1st quarter and then hit a gear the rest of the way…it will prove that the team finally prioritized strength & conditioning in practice this week.

Strength and Conditioning is 2024’s Learning and Growing.

As Maximus Decimus Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions and loyal servant to the TRUE emperor, Marcus Aurelius, once said…

‘Strength and Conditioning!’

We've proven we can hang, we haven't proven we can win against the upper echelon of teams, yet. For year one of a true rebuild, no complaints on my end. I expect an NFC East showdown , 1pm, cooler weather, December, as far as the score, I predict..............One of the two top teams in the NFC East will have more points than the other...therefore I predict no tie game.

Philly has a tendency to play down to their competition: see Jags, Browns, Panthers--all one-score games. Hopefully they look passed us, but unlikely.

Time for Kingsbury to scheme something special up. Maybe heavy TE's and running game to have TOP with occasional Terry Bombs. I don't think stretching the field with Mid/deep WR plays. Have the run setup the pass. Don't let JD have to hold the ball AT ALL..quick hits ..move the chains,,long drives. There should be NO sacks in this game.

I don't have much hope...10% or 15% chance, max

Good show and discussion fellas.

And I agree with the sentiment from the episode. While Philly has already beat us, and they are on a hot streak - I don't think it is Mission Impossible to get the W. Difficult, but not impossible. I also think the "escaping with a win" vibe from NO -- will aid in the guys being really focused and locked in for Philly.

Except for the no sacks, I agree with what you are saying here.
This game is going to come down to Kingsbury not being predictable. He can definitely do it. He did against the Titans. I am kind of hoping that multiple other games were him playing some things close to his chest. We finish the year with three really critical games and two divisional games; all NFC games as well. So, maybe he is ready to show his cards against the Eagles? I am not saying he was holding back per se, but sometimes coaches do have some plans for particular games based on how things stack. It would be nice to see them break tendencies quite a bit in this game. I think the Commanders have some well-established tendencies right now; that means the setup is there for some good surprises.

I suspect we may see KJ Osborne in this one…
