One comment about Adam Peters and San Francisco-

I have heard discussed that there is a way that San Fran can make a move to keep him. It revolves around John Lynch being elevated up the ladder, a move that Lynch has expressed a desire in, and promoting Peters to the GM position.

That said, Peters would still not have the authority to be the main man in that scenario. Perhaps that is why there is a strong lean towards the use of the Head of Football Operations by the ownership group. If so, that is a crafty strategy and should be quite a lure for someone like Peters.

It could also be one of those situations where Peters is doing the bulk of the work that has resulted in success but John Lynch gets most of the credit.

Sometimes, you want to stand on your own and be ‘the guy’.

Short of moving John Lynch to a non-football Exec role and giving Peters 100% authority, I don’t think there are many avenues for San Fran to offer Peters what we might.

And if they were willing to do that seems like they would’ve already.

I don't think it's a great spot for a younger guy to be elevated to the GM position and have the former GM move up another level and still be his boss.

I know in working in business that isn't necessarily ideal for either party, depending upon the personalities.

Would Lynch 'get out of the way' on day to day decisions on the roster and who the team drafts in Round 4 in April?

Or would Peters have to deal not only with Shanahan but still with Lynch having a 'subtle' say in backchannel to the Yorks?

If it were me I would want to go to another business and have a chance to organize my own shop.
