Interesting nugget from Keim's podcast yesterday or the day before, I can't remember. My man puts out a lot of podcasts.
There has been a thing being pushed by some of the more nincompoop beat reporters a significant reason Tavita Pritchard, Ryan Kerrigan and Bobby Engram were retained was because they were on the first year of a 2 year deal and to save some money, unless there was a reason to get rid of them, just keep them. JP Finlay, Mitch Tischler, Nicki Jhabvala and Ben Stadig are the ones I can remember saying it. I'm sure a whole bunch of the 980/106.7 dumb dumbs have repeated it or believe the same.
Keim refuted this. He said they had to interview for their jobs, and they were offered jobs, and they were extended along with the rest of the coaching staff for 2 years. Brian Mitchell once said Keim is never wrong because he gets everything confirmed 7 times. I can't remember the last time he reported something which was factually incorrect, if it has ever happened. This doesn't apply to his opinions, just his reporting. So, I'm going to go with the fact he's right, and the other dinglebombs are wrong.
I think this is important for 2 reasons:
1. (more importantly) Shows again the team didn't settle on something because it was easy or convenient.
2. Our local media is full of lazy useless dumb nincompoop dinglebomb bozos.
