To chime in on the cornerback discussion…
To me it seemed that Kendall Fuller’s improvement coincided with his move out of the slot to the outside. As Derek mentioned that may very well be due to the change in Landon Collins’ usage. He was a liability is the slot for whatever reason.
If not, it just adds to my frustrations with Del Rio etal. Signing a high salaried free agent in Jackson lll and putting him in a primary scheme that he was not accustomed to. Using a first round pick to select a player to fill a position he is not ideal for. Waiting so long to move Collins to where he belongs (whether or not he wanted to). And the struggles with the defensive ends. Do I need to expound?
Yeah, JDR has a history of solid work on his resume but these things should not happen with someone with that history. At the least it should not take as long as it did to figure it out. The NFL is a ‘what have you done for me lately’ business.
