Alright BGO, the floor is YOURS.

The last few years, we've done a BGO Mock Draft on the Blind Pig Podcast, where we assign a pick to one of the boyz on the pod. We then run through a Mock Draft Simulator, and pick players LIVE that are available based on how the board actually shakes out. So what do I need from you? I need you to collectively make our 2nd overall selection in the draft. Now this will be assuming Caleb Williams is going no. 1 overall to the Chicago Bears. Voting is open NOW, and will go until 8:30pm ET on Wed 4/17 (that's 7 days from now). We will then 'draft' the player that wins the vote as our 1st round pick in the BGO Blind Pig Mock Draft.

Vote for who YOU would take if you were the GM making the choice.

I hate to be thick (again) but do I vote for who I would pick or who I think the team will pick?

This is such a hard choice. I've been reading up reports, watching all the film clips, and listening to about a million different podcasts, and I still don't know whether I'd rather have Daniels or Maye.
Both sound like amazing choices, but both have positives and negatives.
At this point I think I have got it rounded down to these two, but McCarthy lingers as an intriguing possibility.
I also think that right now you HAVE to really get QB at that pick... and then once I'd done that I'd have my fingers dialling around the league looking to trade back into the 1st to take a highly ranked OT, though I think Alt might be off the board by that point.

I am genuinely excited to see how this years draft pans out.

I think there isn't any doubt that they are going QB (small chance of slight trade down and QB). At the start of the offseason, I resigned myself to QB because how often do you have the second overall pick in a year that has such strong QB prospects, but there was still a strong part of me that would have liked to trade down, build the line, and give Sam a real shot.

But then we traded Sam.

So while Washington has done a good job keeping silent about WHO they want that makes it damn obvious WHAT they want.

If we have a tie, do we get to draft both of them? :)

If it’s a tie, I bet the one asshole that voted for McCarthy reconsiders their vote.

The first complement folks pay McCarthy is that he is 'really smart'. I just go back to guys coming out like Ty Detmer and Colt McCoy whose lead characteristic was that they were 'really smart with a high football IQ'. They just weren't good enough athletes to translate their skills to the next level - the pro game never slowed down for them.

Please vote with your preference for the #2 pick - we need as much participation as possible. The poll leader will decide who we select on Wednesday BGO Mock Draft.

These were our 2023 Mock Draft picks. Oof - that Zack Kuntz pick is looking bad. Didn't get drafted until round 7, traded twice, played in 1 game for the Jets. Some of the others were solid, but that one.... a cautionary tale about guys who 'rocket up the draft board' late and have all the 'measureables'.

All we had to do was sit there and take Christian Gonzalez at #16 and we wouldn't have had a need for a young corner.

I suppose the fact Gonzalez has NFL size at 6'1 and 205 put Ron off him as a prospect. Like the Wizards with Manute Bol and Gheorghe Muresan at 7'6 and 7'4 Ron always had to take the outliers

Emmanuel Forbes at 167 weighs less than my cousin's mastiff.

Ron became obsessed with positional flex. I think that's why he didn't want Christian Gonzalez. As small as Forbes is, people talked about him playing corner, nickel and even some free safety. It was either that or they really loved his interceptions and thought we needed some ball hawks.

Yep, the same mess at linebacker with the undersized Khaleke Hudson and the idea of the 'unicorn' buffalo safety/linebacker.

Meanwhile the Ravens just line up big defensive linemen with physical linebackers who can run.

Sometimes football is just that simple.

We need a new poll to ask "How many times have you changed your mind over which QB to draft at #2 over the past 48hrs"

I'd put mine somewhere around 8... LOL

I've simply put my trust in the Lord. Lord Adam Peters.

Just hope it's a bit more Peters and less Kingsbury.

Kingsbury has a creative mind but I have yet to see if he can ADAPT his system in a way that makes it more consistently effective in the NFL.

He's perhaps in the can for Daniels, but for reasons that may not lead to better results 2-3 years from now.

Yeah, I don’t think Kingsbury will (or should) have a lot of say in which QB they take

If we had Howell I'd have picked Alt, alas I went with Maye
