Sean Taylor, man. Ugh.

Sean was my favorite college player on my favorite college team. When he was drafted by the Redskins I was out-of-my-mind excited.

I was driving my son to school listening to sports talk radio when the news of his passing broke. I had gone to bed the night before comforted by reports that it looked like he would survive. The news was a punch in the gut for both of us and one of those events where I will forever remember where I was when I learned the news.

And, fuck Michael Wilbon.

I did a little video tribute the day after I found out. Most of the images are ones I shot myself. I'm no video genius, just my way of expressing my sadness.

We must win time of possession, grind them down, we've failed at that lately and it's costing us.

As Jay Gruden recently pointed out, their 3rd down conversion rate has plummeted. I think getting ourselves into 3rd down and longs, something we rarely saw early on in the season, has made things very difficult. I don't know what the answer is - unless BRob is really healthy. But we've got to put ourselves in less obvious passing down on 3rd down so that the threat of Jayden's legs keeps defenses uncertain. Lots of 3rd and shorts equals lots of 3rd down conversions equals winning TOP, more long successful drives, and a more rested defense late in the game.

If we don't get Jayden in some quick reads it'll be a long day, we need to run some old school Bill Walsh ball.
