Well, at least we are wearing the second worse uniform combo we have and not the Steelers one.

See - it's all a matter of taste though. I dig the black uniform. I know it's not B&G but this isn't the B&G, at least not the old B&G. Truth is, I could give a shit about uniforms at some level. Just be a good team for God's sake.

One other comment... I like Carson Wentz. I mean, I really like Carson Wentz. I've dissected every word he's said in every press conference he's held since coming to DC including today's. Guy is a solid human. He's got a good head on his shoulders and I think he's really a good guy. I'm rooting like hell for him.

To each their own, I suppose. But, you can't replace Cindy Crawford with Roseanne Barr and not expect people to not like it.

Clearly Jason Wright is a disciple of Jim Zorn and the Maroon and Black. I think these uniforms are dumb, but I also thought the whole name change was dumb. The uniforms are what they are and the younger crowd seems to like them, which is who they are going for. I'm just resigned to the fact that at 45, I'm not a priority fan to this front office.

I actually love the idea of a Black alternate... but the ones they chose are underwhelming. The 3 uniform choices are independent of eachother, they dont have a uniform (what a concept) pattern about them outside of the font of the numbers. The colors are different for each.

IMHO take the exact color scheme we used for the BGO logo and use that for the numbers and sleeves on the Black jerseys. This woudl be my vision of the Black alternates... it looks like nothing else out there. (Forgive my elementary level ability at paint) Matte black helmet inverting the current one where its 'gold' to be the same burgundy as the base of the numbers on the sleeves and jersey without the 'camo' effect.

So - the offense yesterday, that's what I was talking about on this episode. Not just pound the rock, ball control, and occasional play action. We mixed it up. RBs were catching passes. WR's lined up as RBs and carried the rock. They had no idea what was coming or who the target would be. We passed *cough* 41 times. There were mistakes but there were also electrifying game changing plays. I think you're only going to see more wide open offense as the season progresses with Wentz under center and all these weapons.

So - the offense yesterday, that's what I was talking about on this episode. Not just pound the rock, ball control, and occasional play action. We mixed it up. RBs were catching passes. WR's lined up as RBs and carried the rock. They had no idea what was coming or who the target would be. We passed *cough* 41 times. There were mistakes but there were also electrifying game changing plays. I think you're only going to see more wide open offense as the season progresses with Wentz under center and all these weapons.

I agree. We have some crazy skill - put the ball in our playmakers' hands by any means necessary and let them do the work.

That all said, my one complaint yesterday with Turner was basically the third quarter. We were humming in the first half. We had a bit of wind taken out of our sails right before halftime with the Samuel fumble.

It carried over into the second half. We stalled out of the gates in our opening possession with an opportunity to basically put the game out of reach. Slowly but surely, Jacksonville crawled back in it, and you could feel it was going to get more tense. Those are the moments sometimes when I wish Turner would lean on the run and his o-line to settle things down. That's not to say start playing conservative, but instead, just do something to help the offense get back into the flow of the game and build some positive momentum. We didn't, and instead, the turnovers started piling up. It frustrated me, especially since Antonio Gibson was ripping off some nice carries between the tackles on multiple occasions. Turner didn't do the best job of "reading the room" so to speak in that particular juncture of the ball game.

i am with you 100% about the concern during that 3rd quarter, but I actually argue I wanted LESS of Gibby between the tackles.. but i do get it... I thikn the bigger thing is how much different would have it been, and how much do we actually miss him, if Brian Robinson was there. Would the ground and pound, step on their throat style game may have been a ton different.

I do wonder why we didnt see more McKissic? Gibson has had fumbling issues (duh), so in those drives where we're trying to go down the middle of the O-line, why not use McKissic over Gibson there? Gibson is not a bell cow (I know McKissic isnt either), but my stomach was in my throat on a handful of those runs.
