Belichick?

Washington doesn't need a 71 year old coach that wants to continue to act as if he was 50 and be the GM, DC and a half-dozen other jobs in addition to Head Coach.

Again, Washington needs to find a younger GM that can identify a coach like Zac Taylor or Sean McVay he can win with over time.

I think after 25 years of Snyder and his quick fixes, it's time to look at the better organizations that are winning today and see how they are organized for success.

Josh would choose the most analytical up and coming coordinator available and hire him as head coach.

My unfavorable position aside…I additionally, absolutely, do not want to give up draft picks for Belichick.

If it were to happen, I would hope that Robert Kraft is magnanimous enough to waive any demand for compensation due to Belichick’s contributions to the Patriot organization coupled with the fact that he seems to want him gone anyway.

More noise about this today :( I honestly can't think of a move that would be more deflating for Washington fans than handing the franchise over to Belichick. It would smack of the same kind of shortcuts to success that Snyder tried over and over again. I will be very disappointed if that turns out to be the best idea Josh Harris could come up with to rebuild this franchise. I feel so strongly about it I don't know if I'd want to continue hanging on.

Here's to hoping it's just typical sports media noise that is wrong way more often than it's right.

John,

I was having this conversation with my son, Sam, yesterday. I told him that if Bill to Washington actually becomes a thing, I will be permanently handing in my fan card without hesitation. Harris doesn't have to actually accomplish a lot to keep us who have long suffered on board. Just simply be the opposite of Snyder and you get a lot of grace...that is not too much to ask here.

I guess the fundamental question is whether Harris and Magic think that Belichick is Phil Jackson. Jackson went from winning dynastic championships with the greatest player of all time to winning championships with LA. Now, we don't have Shaq and Kobe and I don't think anyone would compare Michael Jordan/Tom Brady to Sam Howell/Kobe Bryant at this point, but that would be the prism through which I see the idea enticing Harris given his NBA roots.

For the record, I'm firmly against Belichick for the reasons stated earlier in this thread and by many of you.

And for what it's worth, I think it's just something to talk about.

For those of us who don't want Belichick, the more the media gossip mongers about the more unlikely it becomes because we are in season. If all the rumors are true, Kraft files his complaint and we are charged with tampering and lose. One of Harris' constants in the NBA and NHL is a belief in building through the draft. I don't see him losing all that capital for Belichick especially when this team isn't a coach away. We need a lot of players.

Al Galdi said at the open of todays podcast that he was contacted by someone in the Harris inner circle who told him there is nothing to these rumors.

So I’m not gonna entertain the possibility any further.

I am on record as not being a fan of the Belchick idea.

I don't believe in Bill the GM anymore and I honestly don't see him taking a job where he isn't the defacto GM. (a reason I'm highly skeptical about him going to Dallas)

However, while I don't like the idea, it won't drive me away.

I gave Snyder the better part of 2 decades through all the miss queues, PR nightmares, and stupidity. I can't just walk away months into the Harris tenure because I don't like one decision. No owner is going to do everything the way I would. Hell, not even all of you would do it the way I would.

While I think Bill's race is largely run, I also think he is just a QB short of having a regular playoff team in New England and I'm pretty sure that is one position we have covered for a while.

This is the body of the unsolicited text that Galdi received and read from someone ‘close to the Josh Harris group’ on his latest pod-

‘There is absolutely no truth to the Commanders/Belichick rumors. Josh & Mitch are looking to build a solid foundation for the future, not chase or market past glory’.
