Man, I can't stand Haskins. I really can't. His attitude, his speech, the way he acts like he doesn't care. He doesn't seem to take things nearly as serious as we do as fans here. He has had multiple chances to succeed and he has come up short most of them and just seemed aloof about it.

Today started off no differently. At one point he was -2 passing yards and they showed him on the sidelines trying to crack jokes with McLaurin. You could feel it just being another one of "those games".

He forced throws on the run and threw two touchdown killing interceptions. You could see it....he hadn't learned a F***ING thing!

But, then the second half happened. What was once was Haskins throwing on the run became him pulling it down and getting positive yards. That 100MPH bullet now had touch passes mixed in.

Don't get me wrong; he wasn't amazing or dominant in any way. But, it wasn't fair to ask him to be. That is Seattle. A constant playoff team and one that knows us as well as we know them.

Now lets move on to the rest. We will circle back on Haskins at the end.

What is Scott Turner calling now? Barber on a crossing route? 1st and goal from the 2 and we throw it with an empty backfield 2 times in a row? You call a game for basically a rookie off the bench and ask him to throw it 55 times?!! It feels to me like Scott is having classic OC-itis where he thinks he is smarter than the game itself.

Logan Thomas...stud. Man is turning out to be a heck of a pick up. He is a real lunch pail kind of guy who just catches the ball and runs up the field.

JD...I am on the fence with him. He is great at catching and the passing game. But, in the run game he will just run in to the pile. He has no vision. Several times during the game we were all screaming "if he just cut right!!" and things to that effect. But, get him in the flat and he is fire. Quick, great hands, all you want from a scat back!

Morgan Moses...he really just went back to his old ways here. Injured and had to be helped off the field. But, to me, the worst part of that was that he tried to come back in knowing he shouldn't have. He cost us the drive that was for the win there.

Dustin Hopkins....I am speechless yet again with this guy. 90% of the time I want to cut him, but then he has moments like the SF game and you hope he is back. He missed an XP and a FG. If he made either of those we kick the XP instead of going for 2 and we are tied at the worst. He cost us the game.

Oh yeah...why did Turner call Barber on a draw play instead of trying to get a head of steam going? Anything but....that.

Now, wrapping it up with a pretty little bow about Haskins. If Haskins from the second half shows up, I am all for it. I thought he took care of my biggest gripe with him which is the "I can fit that ball in there while on the run" that we saw in the offseason so much. He was pulling it down and running...getting between 7-11 yards at a time. That was GREAT! But, he still eyes down the receivers way too much. He didn't even look to the right several plays where McLaurin was wide open! Instead he stared down Thomas and got 2-3.

He has to release the ball quicker. You can't have the crossing pattern receiver get the ball right before the sidelines. The defender has time to crash in and he has no time to make ANY move.

Rivera needs to clean a lot of that up if Haskins is gonna keep being the starter. But, he needs to clean up Turner first. That was pretty sloppy.

And, this was one grumpy fan's take.

Haskins tried to work to dig out if the hole that he played a ginormous part creating, but I can’t blame him for those last two sacks. I blame the coaches for allowing Moses back in the game. That said, I don’t trust Haskins on the field. I feel the book is written and done and the references just need to be checked.

It's clear the game is too fast for Haskins, and that is an indicator of either his brain being too slow or he's simply not putting in the work to slow the game down for himself. So he takes a lot of shortcuts. Locking in on a receiver, skipping a side of the field.

He also overestimates his own abilities. Pick no. 1 showed a complete disregard for being mechanically sound, and Haskins doesn't have a Mahomes-level arm to get away with disregarding fundamentals.

I agree with most when it comes to Haskins being his own worst enemy. He needs to learn humility and pride.

But, asking him to throw 55 times when he has had a week worth of practice is just ridiculous. I wouldn't ask someone to have a few practice laps in a NASCAR and then shove them in the Daytona 500. Turner did nothing to help him.

He also had some good throws and made the adjustment to not try to throw that ball on the run like Mahomes and Murray do time after time. That was a huge help to himself and our game.

Just be happy the G men lost last night, and we still have a shot at the NFCE. More so with Alex on the field next week.

Playing a team like Seattle as hard as we did for the entire game was nice to see.

A Gruden team being down 20-3 would have shown their belly and given up. There was no surrender in that team.

This right here though shows me the pride coming back to DC. I dont blame Dwayne for being bummed and feeling defeated, but his teammate showed him that he needs to keep his chin up.

I'm sorry, (not sorry), but I've seen enough of Haskins. This ain't the Big Ten. He never had it. Never will.

I think we can all agree on that. But, Turner is also not helping him either with those stupid play calls. Moses trying to come back in even though hes obviously injured cost us. Hopkins cost us.

Its more than just one guy on the team making things terrible.

Whole lotta factors contributed to the L yesterday. I keep circling back to missing that PAT, and how that impacted the rest of the game. But there were any number of other plays/situations that all added up to the loss.

I can't help but wonder, though, how it might have gone yesterday if we'd started the Alex Smith and Antonio Gibson who beat PITT, and not been missing half the LB corps by the time it was over. Trying to be objective about it, but I'm feeling pretty sure we'd be .500 right now and wondering just how far the magical ride might go the rest of the way.

Really curious to see how it shakes out this week ...

if our LB corps was there, we win. They ran all over us and I don't think they would not have half the yardage they had. No way Wilson breaks that long run!

We held Wilson to 107 yards basically.

We had a shot to win that game and there were 4 major factors that worked against us.

1. Haskins throwing 2 INT in (or approaching) the Redzone
2. Asking Haskins to throw the ball 55 times
3. Allowing Moses back into that game on the final drive
4. Hopkins.

All of these things have been pointed out but not one of those things is the cause, they are all factors.

I'm not sure what else we could've expected, Haskins was definitely "shaky" in the first half with some really bad decisions, I'll second Mike though that Turner's game plan was questionable, too many times he tried to get cute and it totally kicked us square in the tuckus. Hopkins is at best inconsistent, one week he's money, next week he's stealing money, I just don't get it, then again we're not the only team where we close our eyes every time he's on the field, kickers as a whole this year seem to be down, I haven't checked the stats, just the vision test. The fact we we're still in this game after that 1st half shows a huge difference in the confidence and demeanor of the players vs prior years.

I'll tell you one other factor. Am I the only one who noticed that at least half of Chase Roullier's snaps yesterday were off? I mean, when you've got a inexperienced QB who plays mostly out of shotgun, can you get the ball directly in his hands instead of leaving it short, high, or to the left or right. You may think that's nitpicking but Roullier did it all game long. That microsecond where Haskins has to focus on adjusting to get the ball in his hands is a distraction that wasn't needed, especially in a game where the Seattle DL was in the backfield a lot.

Would’ve been interesting to see what would’ve happened if protection hadn’t broken down those last two plays.....

Moses should have never stepped foot back in that game. We should have known they were bringing heat, too. Why wouldn't they blitz against a banged up team that has a QB who holds the ball for so long?

Those last 2 sacks are not on Haskins. Moses ended up doing a backflip and Dwayne didn't even have time to crap his pants before he ended up sitting down.
I still think Hopkins is the main person at fault for this loss. You missed an XP?!! A freaking XP? That made us have to go for 2 which we didn't get. So there is 2 points. Then, he misses a FG....there is the 5 points right there.

Yet there is still nobody in camp to even challenge him for that position. That blows my mind. I am not saying to cut him outright (which I would do out of emotion), but at least have someone come in and challenge him for his spot!

I think a lot of the coaches and even his teammates would tell you that Moses is a warrior - that he has consistently played hurt with injuries other players would go to the sidelines for. I believe that's true. But it's on the player in yesterday's situation to answer honestly if he's able to return (the assumption being that means return and play at a capable or high level). Obviously there had to have been a conversation yesterday with trainers/coaches 'are you okay to go back in?'. It may even have been Moses himself campaigning to return. I don't know if that was discussed at all in the post-game interviews. But he clearly was not okay to return. That's 100% on Moses imho.

The Hopkins PAT miss was devastating. There's a huge difference crossing the 50 late in the game knowing you just have to get in FG range vs. needing a TD. Huge. The problem is, for a number of seasons, Hopkins has been one of the more solid kickers we've had in recent years. You can't routinely fire guys because they go through rough stretches. But you also have to have guys you can trust and rely on at impact positions. I think they will bring in competition in the offseason. It's a shame because it looked like Hopkins had stopped the bleeding and was turning it around until yesterday's game.

unfortunately we can't bring in any competition. With the Covid protocols we would have to sign the player, they would have to pass through testing, then we could get a look at them.

I was beating that drum too, but I don't know how it would work.

oh, thats right. Stupid COVID.

Definitely not going to knock Moses on his toughness. You're also right; he had to get cleared by trainers and coaches to go back in.

The other factor in the decision to allow Moses back into the game was that his replacement, David Sharpe, had gotten trucked himself on a previous series. It's highly likely even if Moses hadn't been out there that there would've been the same result. That's why our tendency to ignore the OL in the draft and free agency needs to be addressed. Our depth sucks.
