I gotta give it to BB. First year at it, but he learned quickly and damn - wins one of the leagues. Next year, I think I might be skeered. I was thinking today, I wonder what percentage of FF success is blind luck (because as you rightly pointed out, and we all know, sometimes that seems like it's all it is) and what percentage is skill and smart play. I'd probably put it at 50-50, but I might be overestimating skill.

Actually, I played last year in one league and was somewhat clueless. I managed to get in the playoffs and got beat in the first round. I did win the next game with highest score in the league and would've won it all by having a higher score than the championship twosome the next week.

I thought it was beginner's luck, but the league two team this year was highest scoring in the league by a wide margin - just had some unlucky matchups until the playoffs. Luck just went my way this time. But league one for me was a disaster.

So yeah, that 48.46 I just put up in the League #3 final has to be a record for futility. Oi, how did that team make it that far. Especially when I put up 151 the week before... :(

First - thanx to Shi for keeping this together. I am sure this is stating the obvious from everyone here but I don't think it can be understated either.

I'd say that there is a lot of luck involved. I played here last year and did OK (somewhere in the middle). Also played in a 12 team league & took first. Finished 10th here in the regular season (but did get to 7th in the playoffs). Finished in 1st in another 10 team league this year.

I would encourage anyone that winds up playing in the consolation rounds to stick it out. You might be playing for pride but it certainly feels better @ 7 then 10.

See, I could just be totally egotistical here and say that in our league, you're playing with the big boys. Any of us could win in those other leagues :D (jk of course)

Pretty sure I won't win any games this coming week. I'm starting Lynch, Charles, Allen, Cruz, Graham, Forsett, Luck, Parkey, and New Orleans in each of the leagues. I'm hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. Pretty sure I'm not making the playoffs.

And I'm tired of losing points on "non-plays". Negative points by the defense? Are you kidding? The Saints have a great defense. It shouldn't be this way.

More truth than fiction in that assessment good sir! A lot comes down to working the waiver wire and the players here are much better at that than the rest of the world.

So Neo, want to help us with your DFS knowledge for when we have to craft a DFS lineup for the extra competition? We have to be in the top 20k entries over wild card weekend!

This has been the story of my last two seasons so I totally feel you, brother.

You lost me, Shi. Who is "we" and what extra competition?

Boone, Burner, and myself. Yahoo has some thing this year where the champions of any league play again with DFS lineups on wild card weekend, top 20k move on, and they whittle it down to top 3 over the playoffs.

Yessir. Trophies. You and Boone need to tell me where to send them, via PM. Then you can bask in the glory.

Well, here's what I went with for my DFS lineup in this thing:
QBKirk Cousins
RBCharcandrick West
RBDeAngelo Williams
WRAntonio Brown
WRMarvin Jones
WRJamison Crowder
TEJordan Reed
FLEXGiovani Bernard
DEF
Minnesota Vikings

I can post money values for them as well, as there is that whole limit. I can't believe I have as many Redskins as I do, but they are some of the best bang for buck on the chart, and I'm hoping Crowder will get something good then, as he was dirt cheap :D

How much money did you have left over, Shi?

That group has $0 left. I swapped for the Vikings D over Seattle to get Bernard.
