5th Annual BGO Ballers Fantasy Football League

Fringe cases for League #1.

First and second place are still up for grabs here. LSF is in 1st now, but a loss makes it so Shi no Tenshi or Dead Money get 1st place with a win. LSF could get knocked right out of a bye week with a loss, as both players threatening him have at least 163 points on him for the year(or 296, mu wa ha ha ha).

Boone can solidify 4th place and kill Dead Money's dreams of a bye with a win. A loss could slide him down to 5th, but only if McD5 beats his score by 90.

Goaldeje can make the playoffs, but needs to win against Shi no Tenshi, and hope for an Elephant win, but outscore Elephant by 17 points. Or, if JohnssBass wins, he needs to win and outscore JohnssBass by...129(you can do it, buddy!). On the bright side, Goaldeje, I'm averaging 134 points per game, so if you beat me and Elephant wins, your odds are looking pretty good!

Special K, I can't believe you stole the Houston defense. Jerk.

I've had the Houston defense all season long - benched them only for the bye. They have been money. :)

Today we do the fringe cases. First, for League #2.

I honestly don't know how it hasn't set all the 7-5 teams as having a berth. I don't see any mathematical way for them to not make it, it's just a matter of seeding. If they all lose, they will be 7-6, and with Nobody and Neo playing for a 7-6 record...there isn't anybody else to get to 7-6.

Burgundy Burner is fighting for a bye. If he wins and has at a score that is higher than a -29 difference with Kel Varnsen, he gets 2nd place with a Kel Varnsen loss (wouldn't count on that loss though, he's playing me :( )
Drumlinboy gets the bye with a Kel Varnsen loss, a Burner loss, and a score of 80 more than Varnsen.

Others have a statistical improbability on their hands of getting a bye. Seeding should be interesting though. Wins are still important this week for all of you, but everybody with a record of 7-5 or greater is in the playoffs.

I thought for sure I had it sown up last week. I was up like 60 with one player left and my opponent had 3 left. But those 3 happened to be Forsett, Beckham, and the Buffalo D. That was about 90 points. So now I have to come through this week.

If we all end up tied then it comes down to Points Scored. I think BB and Tartan are fine in that department but only 60 points separate the bottom 3 of us. All it takes is one team catching fire with a couple of guys having 30 or 40 point days for someone to put up a big number and move up, or one team wetting the bed due to stars having bad days or early injuries and they move down.

*shrug*

Should be an interesting day.

I'm as good as done, though I hope I don't lose out on a playoff spot to Elephant. That guy's a dick.

It could happen! Don't give up! It would make Dead Money very happy if I lost!

For those who don't make the playoff, what happens to the players on their rosters?

There is a consolation bracket for those not in the "championship" playoffs. Currently, teams are not locked if they are eliminated. Hasn't really been a reason to, but there is the option that they get locked, so that it doesn't become a dump and waiver run after a team loses.

I can't believe I've been feeling sorry for Burgundy Burner and he's making the playoffs his first year.

Yeah, he's just having to come to an acceptance at the evil that is fantasy. It's a cruel mistress :p

3 weeks ago, I needed only 1 win to all but lock up a spot in the playoffs. 3 straight losses later, and I need to beat Neo or I'm out. I'd have it locked already, had ANYBODY gotten 1 more yard when I played against CBS. If I miss the playoffs because of a 0.06 point loss to the regular season leader..........I'll bitch until next season when I stink it up again :D

Yeah, I was gonna try that trick with Houston getting the Jags twice...
Good Move Special K! :hail:

Especially keeping them away from the much hated Bunnies...

...well, I don't see anyone coming to your defense, Killer Rabbit...:wizard:

I'll admit it - I'm ruthless and got away with a few things this season. I won't be able to pull that off in the future, but from day one I was playing the system for all it is worth.

I didn't run a successful business without a few tricks here and there. Just transferred some of that know how to the game.

I don't expect to win it all, but this has been a lot of fun. Thanks to all for the help and thanks to the commish.

Kudos to you in all seriousness BB - there is a serious learning curve with FF and you picked it up as quickly as anyone I've seen
