5th Annual BGO Ballers Fantasy Football League

Same exact story for me - three losses in the same way. I did a massive trade this week and we'll see if it helps.
 
This part of the year FF gets a lot tougher for a variety of reasons. Injuries are #1, particularly WR and RB injuries. It can be difficult to know whether to go with an injured higher tier starter, or take a gamble on a lower tier guy or backup. I think the other thing that makes it more difficult is that every year, sure-fire previous stars take a dive (like MJD for example) while other players, formerly 2nd tier guys (or even rooks) unexpectedly take off. I'll give you Kelvin Benjamin as an example. He's had some monster games for Carolina, but also some weeks where he hasn't shown up at all. It's all risk vs. reward in FF, unless you get lucky and your sure-fire starters stay healthy all year long, which in my experience doesn't occur very often.
 
One rule of FF (and NFL Pickem) is that you don't stop playing, whether you're out of contention or not. It's not fair to the other players. So make sure you are setting your lineups and continuing to field the best roster you can, as well as making weekly picks in NFL pickem.
 
My bench is scoring way too many points. This is ridiculous. I need to figure out my lineups better. That's where I feel like an FF noob sometimes, is when I make lineup decisions that bite me in the backside later.

El, if your Cutler/Jeffrey connection comes up big, it won't matter how Romo does.

Haha! Well, since Forsett and Smith earned me about 40 points between them, I would say a little bit giddy. If only they would have let Forsett finish off drives for the TD's instead of giving it to Pierce.

I'd imagine you're pretty happy about him not having Brady in though!
 
Man, with Eli back to looking like himself, I may win by 100. I'm up 99 right now. Eli is good for a couple of picks to push that over 100 for me.

Good God. Neo apparently had a feeling before that game...I wonder what it was?
 
After this week, league #2 will be tighter than a grandma's girdle at an all you can eat pancake breakfast.

Apparently it wasn't a good feeling.

Newton has been so-so for me this year because he just wasn't running. I figured playing a strong Bengals defense he wasn't going to run much this week either. Eli on the other hand has looked to be turning things around with strong showings the last couple of weeks. This week he had the seriously suspect Eagle defense so I figured a shootout was in the offing and he would put up big numbers.

Yeah.

I know nothing.

Of course, it doesn't help when two starters are in negative numbers and another posts less than a full point. Injuries aren't helping me but that is an excuse. I have made poor moves in my attempt to build depth and fix issues with my draft.

I pretty much count on anything I do in FF to be luck. I always feel like I'm just out on a hope and a prayer. I saw the Cam on the bench getting all those points, and I just saw a familiar feeling I always seem to have.
