Seeding points were already factored into the current totals, so you are in good shape. I find the biggest key to victory is simply correctly identifying as many playoff teams as possible. Seeding points are like a bonus, and quite frankly, there typically aren't too many contestants who earn a huge amount of seeding points. If you got a good majority of your picks in the playoff picture, you obviously set yourself up well to earn the higher point totals that come with the playoff game picks.

A reminder of the BGO "Crystal Ball" Pool Scoring System:

Here is the breakdown for earning points playoff points:

a. Earn 5 points for every Super Wild Card Weekend winner you identify from each conference.
b. Earn 6 points for every Divisional Playoff Game winner you identify from each conference.
c. Earn 7 points for each Conference Championship winner you identify.
c. Earn 20 points for correctly identifying the Super Bowl winner.

Based on everyone's Wildcard/Divisional playoff picks combined with regular season results, here are the new standings:

Knightingale: 48 pts + 16 points (11 AFC + 5 NFC) = 64 points
SilentThreat: 47 pts. + 16 points (11 AFC + 5 NFC) = 63 points
DixieFlatline: 42 pts. + 21 points (16 AFC + 5 NFC) = 63 points
Kel Varnsen: 42 pts. + 21 points (16 AFC + 5 NFC) = 63 points
Boone: 41 pts. + 11 points (0 AFC + 11 NFC) = 52 points
SkinsOrlando: 39 pts. + 10 points (10 AFC + 0 NFC) = 49 points
Professor: 29 pts. + 16 points (5 AFC + 11 NFC) = 45 points
Canadian Hog: 23 pts. + 5 points (5 AFC + 0 NFC) = 28 points

Unless you were born in Canada, if you still have teams in the race, you essentially still have a shot at climbing the leaderboard and winning with the Conference Championship games worth 7 points each and a correct Super Bowl pick being worth 20 points. Good luck, everyone!

1. SilentThreat: 63 + 7 = 70 pts.
1. Kel Varnsen: 63 + 7 = 70 pts.
3. Knightingale: 64 + 0 = 64 pts.
4. DixieFlatline: 63 + 0 = 63 pts.
5. Boone: 52 + 0 = 52 pts.
6. SkinsOrlando: 49 + 0 = 49 pts.
7. Professor: 45 + 0 = 49 pts.
8. Canadian Hog: 28 + 0 = 28 pts.

* Keep in mind, 7 points are awarded for identifying the conference champion from the NFC and AFC respectively. This season, only two contestants were able to identify a team that would reach the Super Bowl. Both SilentThreat and Kel Varnsen were able to predict that the Chiefs would reach their third straight Super Bowl. Nobody was able to identify the Eagles as being the NFC representative. Both SilentThreat and Kel Varnsen have the Chiefs losing in the Super Bowl in their entry. As a result, for the first time ever, the BGO Crystal Ball pool will come down to a tiebreaker, as neither of our top two contestants will earn points on Sunday for identifying the correct Super Bowl winner.

Tiebreaker rule is as follows: correctly identify the total combined points scored between both teams in the Super Bowl.

Kel Varnsen's prediction: 57 total points
SilentThreat's prediction: 49 total points

I think Kel's got the advantage here, 49 is a low point total for these two teams.

I picked the Lions to win the Super Bowl and I’m so happy that this team made sure that didn’t happen. If it was any other team that knocked off the Lions, I’d be upset. But not this year.
 
I would love if our numbers increase in this contest next year, as I feel it is so much fun! As was shown this year, it is very challenging to predict this league. Not one of us predicted a correct Super Bowl winner. I always enjoy running this one, but you all know what is coming up next - BGO Commanders Mock Draft Pool! Stay tuned for what is maybe our most challenging pool to succeed in. We barely hit on picks when we were picking top 5 in that contest...imagine what will be in store when we pick 29th. 😆

This could go either way, Derek. KC has literally made one play through three quarters and we might be headed to grind out the clock with Barkley time. Not sure more than 10 points gets scored in the 4th. If we have 13 points scored, then you and Kel Varnsen need to have a live cage match on the next Blind Pig episode to break the tie.
