3 Wheels and a late-life crisis?

Pete is there a way to put a BGO logo on the panel under the handlebars that faces the rider that wouldn't look tacky? The original BGO logo. Sorry, I'm living through John at the moment.
I'D HAVE TO TAKE A CLOSER LOOK

Thanks for finding that blue tooth manual Pete - that was exactly what I needed. Ordered the modulating brake light add-on too.

Nah - 2 rounds of golf

Took the motorcycle written test today and got my ‘learners permit’ so I can ride between now and my formal class in a few weeks. Did a couple 30 mile rides today on some winding NC roads. Getting used to the machine, the space it occupies, and how to handle it. Rode 55-60 at times today and felt pretty comfortable. One day at a time.

Marine badging is better than my suggestion . Glad you're getting more comfortable, it's definitely a different beast than two wheels.

I am really enjoying the trike. Have driven it to work the past couple days and gotten used to driving in highway traffic at upper speed limits. I feel a little more comfortable each time. Lots of little learnings every time. Still have some (mostly safety related) modifications to add to the bike but it has been a ton of fun so far. Looking for better fitting riding gear. The pants I got are very heavy and aren’t sized right. Have what I think will be a better pair ordered.

I have riding pants to go over a pair of jeans or shorts, but don't use them unless I'm doing a trip... not like it gets cold down here. Kevlar lined blue jeans are nice, and easier to get a good fit. Lots of folks make them. Gear can be heavy in general. My fall long trip jacket weighs 7+ lbs with the liner in. Just an amazing jacket... the most water tight, wind proof jacket I've ever owned. My warm weather long trip jacket is about 5lbs with the liner, which is never in it. Not gonna lie, my local riding (commuting, short cruises) Blue jeans, riding boots, t-shirt, and a white long sleeve fishing shirt. I was always an ATGATT (all the gear, all the time) guy till I moved to Fl. With heat indexes over often over 100, it's pretty rough. 4 out of 5 of my helmets are light colored. Did an experiment about 20 years ago. Put two identical helmets on a table in the mid day sun. One black and one white. The interior of the white helmet was 17 degrees cooler. You're doing it right, with the right attitude. There is no substitute for saddle time... ride the shit out of her !

I did buy a couple pair of riding jeans and we'll see. I don't mind the bulky ones as it is still reasonably cool when riding. It's just before and after that they are hot as hell. I'm finding it tough to size stuff buying online though. I am at the beach this week but when I get back I have some mods to install. The brake light modulator you suggested Pete, some LED lighting on the bumpers to increase visibility, some footrests that go over the pegs, helmet light that responds to braking, larger battery, and some assorted other stuff like a parking brake lock.

Sort of wish I'd ridden her to the beach but i had too much stuff I needed to bring and it wasn't practical. My overwhelming feeling so far is that I wish I had done this years ago.

Good to hear. I go through the same thing with fitting gear. I don't generally buy online unless it's a replacement for something worn out. Gloves are my biggest problem, short fat hands. 30" inseam, and I always go with a 32 length. That way they don't ride up the shin, and don't get tight at the knee. Bigger battery ? Is it a can-am upgrade or aftermarket ? Not good to go too much bigger. For example, replacing a 20ah battery with a 24ah can over work the charging system, as it will always be playing catch up. That can cause impedance, which causes more heat in the system. Heat is the killer of charging systems. Not preaching, just an insight on how things work.

I think it was a Slingmod battery upgrade. I know it’s a lithium version. I will compare the two before making the change. The standard Can-Am factory battery is notoriously bad. But point well taken and I will check it out before proceeding.

I know of slingmod. I like lithium. If you get a maintenance charger, make sure it does lithium. OptiMate are the best.
