Tie Breaker - 21 Trades

With a few of us wanting Hamilton you know he’ll get nabbed before #11….probably to the bitch ass Gnats too.

Yeah, probably so. I think WR is more likely just because there are more options to choose from. I've seen 4 different receivers that people have going before 11 in various mock drafts. Not all in the same draft, just 4 different guys who people have mocked in the top 10. Jameson Williams, Garret Wilson, Drake London, and Chris Olave. Hamilton is the only safety. So there is a higher likelihood that a WR will be there to pick than Hamilton. I just keep seeing him slip a bit in mock drafts, so why not take that shot.

Away we go.
  • Round 1 | Pick 11 - Drake London, WR, USC
  • Round 2 | Pick 47 - Leo Chenal, LB, Wisc.
  • Round 4 | Pick 113 - Jelani Woods, TE, VA
  • Round 6 | Pick 188 - Brian Johnson, Jr., RB, Ala.
  • Round 7 | Pick 228 - Josh Sills, G, Okl. St.
  • Round 7 | Pick 237 - Noah Ellis, DT, Idaho

Tie breaker: 22 total trades

Updated Standings After Round 1:

A reminder of the scoring system:

a) Earn 10 points for every player selected by the WFT that you guessed correctly.
b) Earn an additional 5 points for every player guessed correctly if you identified the correct round he was chosen in by the Commanders.
c) Earn 3 points if your pick for a round was incorrect, but your pick still matches the position selected by the Commanders in that round.
d) Earn 2 points if your pick for a round was incorrect, but your pick still matches the round the player was chosen in by another NFL team.

Nobody identified Jahan Dotson as being the 1st pick for the Commanders, but points were earned by participants as follows based on the results of the first round:

1. Boone - Drake London (3 + 2 = 5 points)
1. Om - Drake London (3 + 2 = 5 points)
1. Neophyte - Drake London (3 + 2 = 5 points)
1. Canadian Hog - Drake London (3 + 2 = 5 points)
2. Silent Threat - Kyle Hamilton (2 points)
2. SkinsOrlando - Ikem Ekwonu (2 points)
2. Win4us - Kyle Hamilton (2 points)
2. Kel Varnsen - Kyle Hamilton (2 points)
2. Posse Lover - Derek Stingley (2 points)

Still anybody's game as we head into night two of the draft.

Updated Standings After Round 2 and 3:

A reminder of the scoring system:

a) Earn 10 points for every player selected by the WFT that you guessed correctly.
b) Earn an additional 5 points for every player guessed correctly if you identified the correct round he was chosen in by the Commanders.
c) Earn 3 points if your pick for a round was incorrect, but your pick still matches the position selected by the Commanders in that round.
d) Earn 2 points if your pick for a round was incorrect, but your pick still matches the round the player was chosen in by another NFL team.

The selection of DT Phidarian Mathis was an unexpected one in the 2nd round. Nobody earned positional or player selection points for our 2nd round pick. However, several participants earned two points for projecting a player to Washington in the 2nd round that ended up being selected by another NFL team in that round. Congratulations to both SkinsOrlando and Om for also earning an additional 10 points for mocking Brian Robinson Jr. to the Commanders. Second/third round points earned were as follows:

ST - Alec Pierce (2 points)
SO - Alec Pierce/Brian Robinson (2 + 10)
Win4us - Treylon Burks (0 points)
CH - Christian Harris (0 points)
Boone - Quay Walker (0)
Kel - Christian Watson (2)
Posse - Jaquan Brisker (2)
Om - Brian Robinson (10)
Neo - Troy Anderson (2)

6. Win4us: 2 points

* It is close to midnight after two days of draft watching. Please verify your scores and let me know of any errors in my calculations. I tried to be as careful as possible.

* It is still anybody's pool to take - all it might take is hitting on a pick and slotting a guy or two in the correct round and things could quickly change.

* Good luck to all on Saturday!

BGO Draft Pool Round 4 Results/Updated Standings

No participant was able to correctly identify Percy Butler as the 4th round selection of the Commanders. As well, no participant was able to earn positional points, as no participant was able to correctly predict that we would take a Safety in round 4. The only points assigned in Round 4 were to Canadian Hog, who earned two points for predicting that Spencer Burford would go in the 4th. Updated standings are at the bottom of this post.

A reminder to everybody regarding the scoring system used:

a) Earn 10 points for every player selected by the WFT that you guessed correctly.
b) Earn an additional 5 points for every player guessed correctly if you identified the correct round he was chosen in by the Commanders.
c) Earn 3 points if your pick for a round was incorrect, but your pick still matches the position selected by the Commanders in that round.
d) Earn 2 points if your pick for a round was incorrect, but your pick still matches the round the player was chosen in by another NFL team.

Round 4 Picks/Points:

ST - Troy Anderson (LB) =0
SO - Brian Robinson (RB) =0 (+10 assigned yesterday for correct player identification)
Win - James Cook (RB) =0
CH - Spencer Burford (OL) = +2

Updated Standings After Round 5:

A reminder of the scoring system:

a) Earn 10 points for every player selected by the WFT that you guessed correctly.
b) Earn an additional 5 points for every player guessed correctly if you identified the correct round he was chosen in by the Commanders.
c) Earn 3 points if your pick for a round was incorrect, but your pick still matches the position selected by the Commanders in that round.
d) Earn 2 points if your pick for a round was incorrect, but your pick still matches the round the player was chosen in by another NFL team.

With the Commanders not originally having a 5th round pick, the only way contestants would earn points in the 5th round is if a player you mocked in a different round ended up being selected by Washington in the 5th. This occurred for Win4us and Canadian Hog, who both had Coler Turner going to Washington in the 7th round. Win4us and Canadian Hog will each earn 10 points for this, which will be added to their total. With two rounds to go, it is still anybody's game and things can turn around in a hurry!

OVERALL STANDINGS AFTER ROUND 5:

1. Canadian Hog: 17 points
2. Om: 15 points
3. SkinsOrlando: 14 points
4. Win4us: 12 points
5. Neophyte: 7 points
6. Boone: 5 points
7. SilentThreat: 4 points
7. Kel Varnsen: 4 points
7. Posse Lover: 4 points

* As always, if anybody notices or picks up on any errors or things that I missed, please let me know and I will gladly make corrections as we go.

Good luck to all in the final two rounds!

Updated Standings After Round 6:

A reminder of the scoring system:

a) Earn 10 points for every player selected by the WFT that you guessed correctly.
b) Earn an additional 5 points for every player guessed correctly if you identified the correct round he was chosen in by the Commanders.
c) Earn 3 points if your pick for a round was incorrect, but your pick still matches the position selected by the Commanders in that round.
d) Earn 2 points if your pick for a round was incorrect, but your pick still matches the round the player was chosen in by another NFL team.

With the Commanders trading away their original 6th rounder and not having a pick in the 6th, the only way that any of us could have accumulated points in Round 6 would have been if another NFL team drafted one of our 6th round predictions in that round. Unfortunately, none of our 6th round predictions ended up being drafted in round 6. As a result, we head into the 7th round with no changes to the standings. With the Commanders having two remaining picks, anything can happen and a few hits can completely turn things upside down. Good luck to all as we head into round 7!

OVERALL STANDINGS AFTER ROUND 6:

1. Canadian Hog: 17 points
2. Om: 15 points
3. SkinsOrlando: 14 points
4. Win4us: 12 points
5. Neophyte: 7 points
6. Boone: 5 points
7. SilentThreat: 4 points

The 7th round saw our highest level of scoring across the board, with several participants earning points. Interestingly enough, the same thing happened a year ago - round 7 was the sweet spot for accumulating points. Breakdown of 7th round scoring is provided below.

ST - Dai'Jean Dixon - WR, Jack Coan - QB = 0 points
SO - Tycen Anderson - S, Jeremiah Gemmel - LB = 0 points
Win - Cole Turner TE Nevada, Jermaine Waller CB = 3 points (10 points for Turner were already assigned in round 5, position match for Waller = 3 pts)
CH - Cole Turner TE, Tyrion Davis-Price RB = 0 points (10 points for Turner were already assigned in round 5)
Boone - Brad Hawkins S, Shaun Jolly CB = 3 points (position match for Jolly = 3 points)
Kel - Hassan Haskins - RB, Noah Ellis - DT = 0 points
Posse - Ben Brown - G, Dawson Deaton - C = 5 points (position match for first 7th rounder for Commanders = 3 points; Deaton selected in 7th = 2 points)
Om - Josh Sills, G, Okl. St., Noah Ellis, DT, Idaho = 3 points (position match for Sills = 3 points)
Neophyte - Brock Purdy, QB, Brad Hawkins, S = 2 points (Purdy selected as Mr. Irrelevant = 2 points)

OVERALL STANDINGS AFTER ROUND 7:

In a dramatic finish, Om steals the victory and jumps ahead of Canadian Hog by one point with his correct identification of a Guard being taken in the 7th round by the Commanders! That was a very exciting pool this year and there was plenty of movement in the standings in the 7th round, proving that it is not over until it is over. Thanks to all for a fantastic pool! It was much better this year with the greater level of participation, and we hope to see you all again next season! Congratulations to Om for the victory in the 2nd Annual BGO "On The Clock" Draft Pool, as well as Win4us, who rounded out the top three with a strong push at the end! Great job, guys!

1. Om: 18 points
2. Canadian Hog: 17 points
3. Win4us: 15 points
4. SkinsOrlando: 14 points
5. Neophyte: 9 points
5. Posse Lover: 9 points
6. Boone: 8 points
7. SilentThreat: 4 points
7. Kel Varnsen: 4 points

Please let me know if you see any errors in your score and I will adjust accordingly. I am pretty confident it should be correct though as I tried to double and triple check.

Congrats Om. This contest is extremely hard, so congrats to everyone who can get anything right.

I’ll stick to fantasy football drafting. I’m much better in the fake football world.

Thanks to CH for putting this together again, and congrats to Om. Definitely one of the weirder drafts over the years.

Nice work, brother Om.

How a man who wanted a LB so bad wins this thing when no LB was taken is beyond me. LOL

My strategery was firmly grounded in the calculus of dart throwing.

Thanks for putting this together brother Paul. You guys make it easy with all the research you do so guys like me can come in afterwards and pretend like we know something.

Nice job Om! You guys do owe me for the Brian Robinson Jr. pick :)
