2026 Off Season Activities / Camps

Sorry guys, just trying to provide something other than Aiyuk which is dominating many vids now

You’re definitely right about that, the comments aren’t a reflection on you at all! Adding anything to the discourse is always appreciated

And now we know that's why they aren't doing Diggs. They are logjammed at Slot with FA Chig, rookie Antonio, 2nd year Lane, and 3rd year McCaffrey.

Kliff Kingsbury is gone, so the Lane/McCaffrey experiment as an Outside WR is over. They're back to what they were doing best in college, which was Slot.

Is this the thread where updates from Twitter and people that attend will be posted? Not too much info from today

I never quite understood why each round of the kicking competition have so few attempts. Six kicks, that’s less than a minute’s worth of kicking. What do they do for the rest of the day?

The specialists themselves are doing a lot more work than that (snapping, holding, punting, kicking) throughout practice off to the side.

But in terms of 11 v 11 simulation with the rest of the guys rotating through getting ST’s snaps during minicamp, yeah you only get so many live attempts. Because all those players also have to rotate through position group drills and full team O + D drills from the top of the depth chart on down to 2nd/3rd string and beyond. Those snaps are precious and not shared equally.

I’m sure in camp there will be days that are heavier on the ST’s “starters” getting time with each kicker to really lock in on the competition

But right now every single player on the 90-man, even those who major in ST’s, has to go through the various installs under their respective coordinators and position coaches so that everyone is ready for training camp and can hit the ground running when the time comes. Hard to focus too much on ST’s work alone even when you’re in the early stages of a kicking competition

Coming at the issue sideways, I’ll also posit this: you’re looking for a guy who can come in cold (not literally, but in terms of “practice kicks”) and perform, right? It’s not necessarily useful to know how a guy looks on kick #32 in a row while being rushed by 300 pounders, when they don’t get to work out the kinks like that in a game. Getting 6-8 high pressure, high leverage kicks to win your job each day is not dissimilar to gameday on many teams.

Not sure about the 68 yarder recently, but we've got video evidence of the guy hitting from 72 a few months back.

Dude has a MONSTER leg.

I'm defiently not a kicking expert but all the clips I see of him look like he is hitting a very blockable 3 wood. Most of the really good kickers have a leg that hits 50+ like a 7 iron.

In other terms besides Golf, it's like launch angle in Baseball.

You see sometimes (rarely) when a kicker tries for a super long max range kick, they might line it up a little further than 7 yards behind the LoS to give them just a bit more room to drive it and hope it clears the DL raising their hands.

Him hitting from 72 doesn't mean his launch angle is going to be that low at 62. I really have hopes we can copy Dallas's new amazing kicker with one of our own. The 4th down frenzy we had in 2024 was awesome and fun, but getting a kicker that's consistent at 55 would be amazing and also remove the need to roll the dice on 4th down as often as we did.

For a pure move tight end like Chig, seeing him put in work directly with Welker suggests we may see him operate out of the slot a good bit.

Beatwriters mentioned Chig is in the slot and in motion a lot. I bet the team views him internally as the Deebo replacement. And more of a "Big Slot" than a TE.

We have a plethora of receivers who seem best used in motion.

If Jaylin Lane will find success it’ll start there. Same with Antonio Williams. Not sure about Sinnott. Mind you, whether any find success is up in the air but that feels like their fit or how they caught eyes in college

Ties goes to the rookie? Maybe that's just me wanting the long term golden leg.

I'm OK with that if he wins, in fact I'm rooting for him. But we should be prepared for the usual Kicker slump period for a few years until we find out if he settles in. Kickers, especially rookies can break your heart
