2026 Injury Updates

No timetable on Amos is a huge concern.

I don’t think McNichols makes the team now, given he will be out a few weeks. Younger guys will get a chance to shine in his place. Tough break.

Good news on Aalegretti, he really needs to get some reps with JD.

My fear is that the Mariota injury will scare them off playing Jayden in Game 2.
Well, Quinn said he wouldn't.

And he shouldn't.

Because frankly whether Mariota is available or not, if Daniels goes down, we're cooked anyway. And that's kindof true for just about every team. If your starter goes down for any length of time, you're screwed. It's good to have a good backup in the case like we had in 2024 when Mariota had to step in for a game. But that's really it.

No timetable on Amos is a huge concern.
Yeah, that's my biggest takeaway also. The CB situation is more troubling than the Center situation. I'd argue it was more troubling than the WR situation. It got less troubling when Amos came back and they signed Douglas.

Now Amos is gone again with no timetable, and it's back to very concerning.

I think Moreau was the insurance policy for Amos. I'm not entirely sure they don't need a second insurance policy.

I am secretly hoping that Moreau gets some run and plays well. Then I can bust out "The Island of Dr. Moreau" (a la "Revis Island") as his new nickname.

So is Amos still recovering from last season's injury or is that specific one in the past because from what I remember he was cleared to start participating again but then the ankle.......(injury?) thing happened and he hasn't been on the field since. Is this a situation where the coaches are being coy about serious this is because all I keep hearing is "soreness" but if it is STILL that sore to where he can't practice why is it not being disclosed as to what is causing the soreness? It'd be different if Amos was a veteran in his prime and yes I thought he looked very promising last season when healthy, but he is still way too young & green to be missing significant time and still expect him to walk right back onto the field and perform at a high level.

Report I saw it said "re-aggrivated'

Interesting, I thought I saw that it was a new twisted ankle. He went up and came down badly on the ankle.

I don't know which is right.

Yeah who knows

of course I dont really know who CWallSports is...

And he doesn't say "re-aggrivated" so I may have had selective reading when i first saw that. Still can't figure out if it's a new injury or not.

This article seems to indicate it's a new ankle injury he suffered in his second day back to practice:

But it's all really loosy goosy language.

The thing is, he suffered a broken leg. It was never reported that by "broken" it meant "had to be re-attached." So broken leg shouldn't take 8 months to heal.

I would understand if it took some time to get strength back.

My guess is this is something new, but that's strictly a SWAG.

And that doesn't make it better. He needs to get healthy and get and keep his ass out there. I ranked him as the 2nd most indispensable player on the team because of what's behind him. Daniels was first. McLaurin 3rd (this was before Diggs signing), Allegretti 4th because JGG and rookie 6th round pick were behind him, Tunsil 5th because he might be the best player on the team.

And 3 of my top 5 have been out. 5 is done for the year (Tunsil), 2 has practiced once, and 4 is returning to practice this week

Ironically the two guys who missed the most time last year both look great in Daniels and McLaurin.

Newton in New York getting his pec checked out. Apparently was injured during the Dolphins' game.

Agreed. It's just bad MoJo, and why we shouldn't have threads titled:
-The Missed FG thread
-Will we give up another 4th and long conversion
-Is Jayden's Mom holding us hostage?
-Legal proceedings updates

lol.. I'm just picking since it's nice to have a thread with injury updates (and hopefully improvements!) without having to filter out among all of the other stuff. But I do get heebeejeebies every time I see this thread updated. Hopefully we'll see more positive updates and less bad news soon.

How did Amos miss the whole offseason with a broken bone. Was it like an Alex Smith type thing that had surgery and pins?? Did he get MRSA or something. This is just not adding up.

Is it me or have there been a lot more injuries around the NFL so early in the preseason

It's not just you...

Granted the Biadasz injury was a freak result of a someone THROWING another player... Some other freak stuff, but a lot of big hits so far.

Training staff not doing their job correctly?

Reports like this happen every training camp, I don't see anything here as unusual.

Although something like "injured his knee" has such a wide range of potential meanings, it's hard to assess!
