Catching up with Josh Taylor's video, he just watched practice

A. He's not the only one watching practice who thinks Sainristil has been meh, cited another dude who is doing videos wth the same observation

B. Rasual Douglas looks good, easily their best corner. Thinks Amik beats Sainristil for the job

C. Concerned about the center spot

D. Quan Martin playing a lot with the 3's, wouldn't be surprised if he's cut

E. Doesn't think Coleman gets shifted to LT, because he seems to be winning the guard position. Wylie not hot today subbing for Tunsil.

F. Chaisson and Oweh both with big camp

G. Main concern watching practice is whichever safety is playing next to Cross and if Sainristil has to start

H. K. Allen has a good day running today.

I. Jayden on fire still.

J. Omeniho looks great especially when lined up next to Oweh

L. Looks like Burks has the lead for WR 6, he gets more reps at that spot.

B, would be a disaster. Not just cause of Sainristil busting but because we have several seasons to know that Amik is good as a Nickel and bad Outside. Which means either Amos gets healthy or we're absolutely screwed.

E, doesn't mean he's crushing it, but that's an interesting development

G, yup, some of have been extremely concerned on this for months. I had FS as my 2nd biggest concern behind WR

F + J. This FA class might have been a home run.

K, that's great for Newton. Starters were not really in doubt with Payne + Kinlaw

L, so Burks is on the plus side of the roster bubble but still very much on the bubble. Keeping 6 is not a guarantee. This also means Dyami and Van Jefferson aren't making it.

I’m not saying he’s wrong on any of those takes - but he is a fan who is trying to elevate himself to a media personality. Why would his take carry any more weight than anyone posting here? I’m just asking.

To be fair, you could say the same thing about many of the media personalities who have no particular experience in Pro football.

I don’t understand means that - I don’t understand. You think you know and understand and that’s perfectly okay - I don’t buy it. I think the team is flat out wrong for releasing him, regardless of “why”. If they think Allegretti is better - that’s one thing. But to release a player capable of playing (and we know he is because he did) and left us with scraps is a bad move in my eyes.

I think our center position is perilous right now and we opened a hole we didn’t need to. You didn’t. I’m okay with that.

Exactly this. It was a bad move. A bad move that a team like the Eagles would never have made. And being cash strapped doesn’t make it a good move.

If it was a good move, we wouldn’t all be sweating bullets about the center position right now.

What was his salary? Eight million? Don’t we have something like 30 million left on the cap? But instead of feeling good about all of our offensive units, we are wondering whether a lack of center depth could derail the season. It would be like complaining about corner and FS depth and saying that cutting a perfectly decent starting corner and FS in the offseason, for no reason obvious to anybody outside the FO, was a good idea.

It was objectively a bad move.

Going back to a point I made months ago on Blind Pig… if Sainristil is struggling at corner, why not move him to safety? He can still play corner in an emergency but our post safety is a gaping hole. Why not throw an athletic body at it and see if it sticks?

It may not. But if he truly may not start at corner (Douglas and Amik and even Spoon along with a healthy Amos could beat him out) why not try to utilize a young man who showed he can play in this league? And maybe reset his confidence a bit in the meantime. Instead of being an “issue” at corner he could be our “answer” at free.

The biggest thing to be excited about so far this offseason is that Jayden seems to look better than ever. If this is true, we are fine.

Also, it looks like we killed FA this year.

This is a great idea. And I’d definitely be trying g to sign another CB and center.

It wouldn’t imo, but he’s there and we’re not, so for me it’s more about access to fuel his first-hand fan takes vs second-hand fan takes from a distance. All to be taken with a grain of salt but interesting nonetheless

I felt the same about the Australian guy that was going to camp a couple years ago, Chad Ryan, and feel the same about Lynnell Willingham and many others. Even JP Finlay is only like half a step above such observations in my view.

But that’s not the funny part. The funny part was this third guy chiming in with “He also making stuff up. Reaves led us in INT that year with 3. Mikey had just 2….Wagner/Quan also had two. Just fake stats.”

So, i did a lil Google search, typed in 2024 commanders defensive stats, which took me to ESPN, and the stats showed reaves having ZERO (not 3 as he claimed) INTs, and Wagner also having ZERO (not two, as he claimed) INTs, and quan Martin having only ONE (not two, as he claimed) INTs.

(I decided to stay out of this one though, just thought it was funny how someone could be so loud & wrong on everything he claimed)

His take to me has more weight than anyone here who is not in camp including myself. I am not saying his takes are 100 percent spot on - i got no idea. But i know from my own experience when ive gone to camp i can give real opinions from what i see. When i diont my opinion about camp is irrelevant since i am not watching it.

it would be like me reviewing a movie / i am a smart diude lol at least in my own mind but its a mile different for me evaluating a movie i didnt see purely based on preconceptions versus actually watching the movie

I don't have any problem with you sharing it. I'm just pointing out he is not particularly qualified to make assessments. I would say the same thing about JP FInlay, Grant Paulsen, etc... they are just guys who watch football like we do. They are also embarrassingly wrong as often as fans are, and that's despite watching every available practice they can. Watching is one thing. Knowing what you are looking at from a distance is another.

From my experience going to camp its hard to completely botch where players who are playing great you label them as playing poorly or vice versa. And that goes double as to the WR spot and Cb. Its probably the easiest spots to watch in camp so many one on ones to watch.

i recall one camp talking about william jackson getting smoked in camp, it wasnt well received because he was an exicting FA signing,

I get juding by twitter at least the idea of Sainristil struggling isnt well received. Not saying Taylor is right or wrong. Got no idea. But i know from my experience watching camp its not easy to get things completely wrong especially at that spot.

And since ive agreed with some of Taylors draft takes and he's been a homer generally I dont discount a rare negative take from him but if others want to discount it its cool.
