Supposedly we requested not to do 1v1's. Patriots are a bit disappointed by it. Sounds like we don't want to burn that time, but the Patriots wanted to see how their guys matched up?

That’s interesting, zooming out I feel like the team work is way more important and limited because you only get so many chances to line up 11 v 11 against people who aren’t on your roster and coaches who aren’t on your staff and work on stuff. So I can see it. But yeah players love 1v1 stuff

Funny how the reports out of Washington is the OL was great, in that thread started by the Pats write about Jayden the Pats fans are claiming their DL ate up the Washington OL.

I'm just glad to see reports of actual action against another team.

I'll ask again, why is Jacory Croskey-Merritt referred to as Bill? I saw it again from JT Finley.

Croskey-Merritt is called by his teammates, Bill. It was a narrative right after we drafted him. There is a backstory to it, forgetting what. But its been said many times for months, he likes to be called Bill.

As for training camp, tough to tell reading stuff from both NE reporters and DC reporters. Based on that my impression is both offenses smoked the other teams defense.

Tough to tell based on reading tweets, especially when the NE reporters were more detailed than Washington. Sounds like the encouraging thing from NE's point o view, is Maye and their Wrs apparently shredded this defense at times especially in the 11 on 11s.

But sounds Jayden played well versus NE's defense but I gather the offense wasn't as on fire as NEs

I'll ask again, why is Jacory Croskey-Merritt referred to as Bill? I saw it again from JT Finley.

"I got the nickname Bill from having a bald head when I was little. I used to have a low haircut, so people joked on me and said I looked like the character Little Bill. So it just stuck with me."

For the benefit of readers who didn’t know, Little Bill was an animated educational children’s show, created and produced by Bill Cosby, that ran on Nickelodeon from 1999 to 2004. The star of the show was Little Bill Glover, a young boy with a shaved head and an active imagination, growing up in Philadelphia.

Croskey-Merritt picked up the nickname as a child and it has stuck with him through adulthood.

This kind of reminds me of a few years back when we were a lousy team and had a joint practice with the ravens.
We wanted to show them we wouldn't be pushed around, we wanted to establish dominance and build our confidence.

There were a bunch of scrums and skirmishes and at the end of the day we were widely considered the victor of the practice.

Then the regular season started and they went on to their usual 12 plus wins and we were atrocious.

This practice kind of reminds me of that.

The patriots weren't a good team last year and wanted to show everybody they could push around the team that made the nfc championship last year, or at least it feels that way to me.

New coach new attitude and they wanted to show it early.

Doesn't mean much until the real bullets start flying.

Sounds like Jayden looked great. Amos looked good, as usual. Tunsil looked really good. Conerly and Wylie both looked good. For all the raving about Maye on twitter, he was 14/21 with an INT in 11 on 11's and 3/6 in 7/7. I don't care that the INT was a batted ball. That's not a great preseason stat line. It looks like the 2nd/3rd string NE units ATE.

That's what the Redskins used to do in the preseason. Have our backups look good, win preseason games, and then lose a bunch in the regular season, because you mostly win on the quality of your QB and starters.

We are going to need some more investment at receiver though. I realize that Terry didn't play and is going to play for us this year and next, almost no matter what. He and Ertz are both older. We need a dynamic young receiver and a dynamic young TE to play alongside Terry in the coming years. Can't fix everything at once.
