Von Miller, Laremy Tunsil, and Noah Brown have a 'vet day.

Immediate reaction was 'wft?' it's the second day of camp....

I then started to think, i wonder how many 'vet' days are baked in by coaches for no other reason than to get the young bucks more reps? Jean-Baptiste i likely going to be seeing a fair share of playing time, and the nuance of drills he will 'need' to be going through is likely elementary compared to Miller. Could they say 'ok Von, you go over there' kind of thing and they get much more basic on certain aspects to help bring them along, knowing that it would not be benefiting Von in any way? Just a thought.

Yeah, you know what you're getting and how you want to use Von Miller. You don't need to re-invent the wheel for him. He understands what he's supposed to do.

I do wonder what the OT strategy is today though. Conerly was with the 2's at RT. Is he not the #1 LT or who is that?

Tunsil has LT locked up tight.

My assumption is that Conerly has RT locked up. But, as a matter of team culture they are making him "earn it" by starting with the second team. I don't think he'll have any issues playing better than Wylie and ascending to RT1.

I continue to be super impressed by the quality of the individuals that are selected to be on the team. From Jayden and Bobby yesterday to Von and Brandon today, they are all seemingly very thoughtful and intelligent men without pretense or prevalent ego.

  • Wylie switched over to 1st team LT with Tunsil out. Looks like they're keeping Conerly as a RT only.
  • Javon Kinlaw looks shredded and explosive. Sounds like he reshaped his body after signing with us. Makes me think the Elephant End concept might be real.
  • WR Ja'Corey Brooks deceptive smooth moving skills seem to be working well. Sounds like he's had 2 plus days of training camp.

Makes sense with Conerly, that’s the most efficient way to get him prepared to start at RT this season instead of moving him around

Realistically, we took a massive step last season in moving beyond salivating over a potential UDFA find, to bigger and bolder ambitions.

But here I am, this is my sickness.

Everyone loves an underdog and roots for a Cinderella

Lots of rotation going on between backups who know our system and FA signings who are new here, but still cool to see Owens getting run with the 1’s at all. He was an UDFA sleeper for many last year

Not posting this for the dumb name controversy stuff but to show that Peters was on this ages ago

Not to be a drama hound but I don’t remember Daniels and the first team O ever having an early practice like this in year 1 with a new coaching staff, nvm year 2 👀 💅

Caleb Williams will be huge bust, in the mold of Trevor Lawrence.

Not sure I'd call Lawrence a bust really. He sure hasn't lived up to expectations given his pre-draft profile, but I don't think he's been so bad to be labeled in the "bust" category.

Obviously, how Caleb turns out in the end is TBD. I think this season will be telling.

My hot take is that Ben Johnson will be a mediocre, at best, head coach in the NFL. I don't have a specific reason I can pin this to, but I just feel like he's going to flail and not be the kind of guy that can lead an entire org to success.

He’s not going to have any excuses if he busts. He has a great offensive mind at coach. They’ve really shored up that OL. He has elite weapons.
