2025 Commanders Transactions Thread

Whelp, C depth still scares me. Harris cut, Herbig retired....they will be scouring the cut/waived players for a PS candidate at C.

Could they still look to upgrade RB..McNichol? Need a decent one for the PS I'd say at least
 
I’ve heard Allegretti mentioned a few times on pods as a potential back up C. Not sure if he took any snaps there preseason though. If he could backup at C and G then it could free up a roster spot elsewhere

Yeah he is okay, kind of meh. I'm sure they can find players with higher ceilings
 
Cowboys stashing Mafah on short term IR it seems, so that’ll be a landing spot for a RB too. Will be some competition
 
Wouldn’t mind us taking a flyer on Chark or Terrace. Terrace was an absolute monster in 2020 prior to his injury and then had some bad coaching in Carolina but has seemingly just fallen off a cliff. He’s a big WR though that could be a great RZ target.
 
Feel like spots we need depth - and should maybe be scanning the waiver wire - are backup C, 6th WR, 3rd QB on offense. On defense I think we have good depth - but we lack impact starters in a couple of key spots (Edge/OLB, possibly DT, FS) and those guys are not walking the streets or being cut.

I think that about sums up where we are as a team. A very good offensive team who maybe lack some depth and need a bit of luck with injuries and a very average defense that has some depth but lacks blue chip talent.
 
KJ Osborn is being released as well.

The problem with Allegretti at C is he’s already the starting RG for the first 4 games of the season.

So he slips to center and Wylie has to play RR, or maybe it’s Chris Paul, but now you’re moving 2 guys next to a rookie RT and a second lead LG changing positions.

Not ideal.

I think it was Standig’s pod where they talked about this scenario. Their suggestion for this was Wyllie starts at RG with either Conerley and/or Fant at RT.
 
We should look to sign a player with experience at center among the 1,000 players released yesterday.

I was a bit shocked we went the entire offseason with Dieter figured in among the backups in the interior.

He played poorly last season at center when Tyler was hurt and his primary problem appears to be a lack of strength to anchor.

That kind of player gets Daniels killed.
