I have mixed feelings on Enron. I agree with all you said about his positives. But he’s also a pass catching only TE with a history of injuries. Nothing major mind you, but he’s only played 16 games in a season twice. That is what scares me about him. But with the TE landscape the way it is, I think I’d still like them to sign him.

It’s looking like a TE through the draft. Either that or more bottom of the barrel or old worn out veteran signings.

Yep. Really no one out there I think would be worth a look. I really don't get it - unless they love someone in the draft and are determined to get him. Or maybe they are just resigned to not having strength at that position in 2020. Hell - at this point, I'd move Cam Sims to that spot. He'd immediately be the best TE on this roster.

I am not a fan of the Logan Thomas signing.

Maybe he's at least better than TE Logan Paulsen ?

at this point, I'd move Cam Sims to that spot. He'd immediately be the best TE on this roster.

On Sims, he’s 6’5” 225-230. If he put on another 20lbs he’d be bigger than Jordan Reed was and the same size as Sprinkle. I really think he could do it and he’d get the chance to be a starter. He’d be a real challenge to cover. I wish we were a more imaginative franchise.

Well, most times, receivers don't like being hit. Would think converting to TE requires more toughness than a lot of WR's have. And if he can't block, then he's a key for the opposing defense whenever he'd be on the field.

All that said, if he can do it, I'm all for it. Maybe he should be putting on the weight, and lobbying for a chance.

Logan Paulsen far exceeded expectations as an UDFA and until this off-season has remained a serviceable TE in this league, as well as, a great special teams players. Logan Thomas hasn't come close to his production and we could use a TE who could block as well as Paulsen.

The free agent TE I'd like to have taken a flier on is Nick O'Leary. I think he has more upside than Thomas...O'Leary was a decent blocker and an incredible talent for FSU.

He's not lived up to his expectations in the NFL, but he has talent. I'd rather have seen him signed than Logan Thomas.

To his defense, Thomas hasn't been playing TE all that long. Was a QB his entire college career, as well as his first 3 years in the pros.
He started TE in 2017 for the first time. So, three seasons at TE in his life.
On the other hand, his new position coach here, is the exact opposite - he's been coaching in the NFL for 21 years. Maybe that makes a difference.
Not sayin he is, or will be, good, but maybe he''s still raw and needs a little more time and development.
It's not going to take much, to at least exceed Sprinkle's production, or become a 3rd TE.
Just trying to be optimistic, as always.

It also could be they see a lot of potential in Hentges. At minimum I think he’d make a good #2
